2881.

Again, find something else.

That is all because there isn't a large enough market for any of these cars to make it profitable unless they share the research and development.

Yet you want them to make one of these cars that would cost them quite a bit more to produce just to take customers away from themselves. How does that make any sense to you? Or do you disagree with my premise. Because if you agree with what I laid out then I really don't understand how you think it would make any financial sense to do what you are asking.

I think a turbo twin would cost less than 2k more to build than the current one. Actually maybe even less than that. They could have used the Ascent engine with no changes. They spent money developing the twin engine just for this car. The reason the don't sell a turbo twin has nothing to do with cost, profitability, or market size. It has to do with the Supra 2.0.

Plus gas. That's basically a 3000lb car. This is a weird thing for you to nit pick. Do you think 160hp is enough for a 2881lb car but agree with me that it's not enough for a 3000lb car?

Curb weight includes a full tank of gas.

Savagegeese weighed his at 2814 lbs with less than a full tank.

Plenty of people have successfully gone FI with modest power goals

When the goals stop being modest is when the engines go poof.

You may be right, but that is just as good of a reason as any. You make one of my points. Toyota won't allow it. And why would Subaru want to bastardize sales of the WRX?

I think you know it will never happen and why. But just try to convince yourself it is possible. It isn't.

Make it over the top so that there is no mistaking it.

I thought TNGA + Ascent engine was already over the top, but I guess not on this forum :bonk:

At least they offer an engine for all the tastes. Want a flat 4 turbo? 2.0lt? 2.5lt? We have it! Want a flat 6 NA? We have it!

Not if you get the GT4, but I'd sooner have an Evora :)

Designed for a stock turbo, you'll just need wider wheels, more tire, a stronger frame, larger brakes, beefier driveshaft, beefier transmission, beefier half shafts, stronger fueling throughout, and a larger intake. Then when you add in the weight of the turbo and intercooler plus additional water cooling. So 3000 actual lbs will be pretty easily exceeded. And that's assuming you only go for maybe ~250 HP. Because if you go above that, the torque is going to require even more beefing up and more weight to meet OEM quality standards.

The i4 Supra is less than 3200 lbs. Get one of those.

Or if you really wanna whine about altitude, get an EV.
