I learned to fly RC Helicopters with a sim. Having a predictable environment is crucial for those little details. Agreed!

I would strongly recommend checking out the BeamNG.Drive. While it's famous for its realistic deformation physics and majority of youtube videos of this sim are just crashes, you'd be surprised how good the driving physics in this sim is. Just check it out.

There's plenty of mods, including the BRZ/FR-S which is quite accurate. Also you can tune anything, like the compression/rebound of shicks, spring stiffness, camber, toe, caster, etc. Which really changes car's behavior.

Personally, I've uninstalled Assetto Corsa after I started playing BeamNG.Drive.

Just in case you don't know, you can change those things in AC as well.
It requires a third party car editor though, but is still doable.

Perhaps my statement was a bit confusing. What I meant is that those changes are more obvious in BeamNG. As well as the physics is more advanced overall.

The only downside of BeamNG at the moment is it's mostly a sandbox. You won't have championships, career mode as in AC. But if you use it for practicing or overall having fun - it's an awesome sim.

The Butt Kicker.
https://thebuttkicker.com/

I have ButtKicker Gamer2.

(or any other LFE for that matter)

Yup, got it.
The other benefit of AC is that it has a lot of tracks.
In fact, it has every track I've been to, or plan to go any time soon.

It's effectively a bass heavy speaker that you mount to your seat so you can feel certain things to add another layer of immersion. For example, if you were to hit a rumble strip you'd feel it bump.

Interesting. Is it worth it and do you feel understeer and oversteer more than if you didn't have it?

Does not add anything for over/understeer. I have a gamer 2, can't really say it's worth it IMO. It'll impress your friends and add some fun dimension to the game, but it definitely will not make you any faster.

Mostly for immersion, but some claim it helps them feel oversteer.
Pain in the butt kicker (c) to set up, so everyone's experience can be very different.

Which sims and which software have you tried it with?
Have you tried it in iRacing with built-in LFE output?

Yup, using sim commander. It's certainly nice for immersion but I don't at all feel like it adds anything useful that makes me faster. Just my opinion!

I’ve been around the BeamNG team since the RoR days lol. Even used to make mods for Beam in my free time. It’s an awesome physics engine but the handling isn’t there in my opinion.

Understeer is evident when your steering wheel provides reduced resistance to steering inputs, Oversteer is evident when your car begins to turn without necessarily providing appreciable steering inputs.

Both understeer and oversteer can be induced by weight transfer independent of steering inputs, but can be complimented/tuned by steering/throttle/braking/weight transfer inputs.

It's complicated, but being aware of these basic behaviors/traits will get you on the way to understanding when over/under steer can/will happen.
