This! I was making very good money, but some stuff went south and now i am making about 4-500 dollars every two weeks less then i was used to..but spending habits haven't changed...I'll figure it out or pass my debt onto my kids that aren't born yet.

That's fucking bonkers.

Paid mine off in about 14 months iirc, financed ~$17k of the car (~$10k down), all parts bought on CC get paid in full every month because CC interest rates are what 10%... Guess that college degree lost me that thread you guys are starting.

Not sure if insult or.....

(no really i don't understand this part). Probably because i didn't go to college :P

Options are added at port or by the dealer so you most certainly should be able to pick them. That said anybody trying to get one of the first would likely be told "take it the way we sell it or it goes to the next in line" so they sort of had you. If buying one now there would be no excuse for them to force options on somebody ordering a new car.

Exactly. It wasn't a deal breaker, it only added ~14$/month. But it was just a nuisance.

The bigger annoyance was when they told me I could drove over to the Subaru dealership and have their guys add a warranty included turbo for 2k.

Dealerships:brokenheart:

I traded in my 2007 STi for 17,500 back in 2012 onto my FR-S which was roughly $26,500.

So.. $9,000 for a brand new car, lol.

Was much easier in 2015.
"Well sir look at all the extras on this car"
"Well I don't want all that stuff" (I did)
"Oh but it is already on that one but we have a black one over here with nothing on it"
"Nope I want Lava do you have another"
"No"
"Then I want this one but don't want all that stuff"
"We can get another in about a month"
"In a month I could have a Genesis I want that one take the stuff off"
"We can't do that we paid for that stuff"
"Ok goodbye thanks for your time"
"Wait, let me see what I can do"

I got a pile of stuff!

I need a mentality like yours lol enjoy what I can now, and pay it off before I retire instead of trying to save and not do jack.

Oh, my, ....... @KennethJohnson ...... IMHO, that type of data will do nothing but drive you up a wall.

Too many variables, especially with pre-owned cars.

For your planning purposes, I reckon you should be able to buy a new, base model, FR-S, with a manual transmission, for around $25,000 (plus tax & title).

For a used car estimate, I would suggest you consult with KBB for a ball park figure.

Happy hunting and ....... most importantly, pick a pretty one!

Great point, I mean I bought mine used (2013 brz limited with 34k km) for 27.5k (Canadian so 19.5 US$). Looking at my purchase price wthout more info you would think I overpaid a hell of a lot but in reality I got a great deal once you consider how much money was put under the hood before I bought it
