Well I'm selling my 2014 FR-S Monogram - starting a family and need a bigger vehicle...guessing back to a 4Runner or a FJC.Here is my posting on CL

If someone moved from a non-emissions testing state and had a catless header, catted aftermarket f/o pipe and an SC, would they still be able to pass NM emissions testing? Is there the visual inspection or just a sniff test on the tail pipe? The vehicle runs on e85 as well.

1. There is only emissions testing for Bernalillo county.

2. I don't know if there is officially a "visual" inspection, but they do look for the emissions sticker under the hood.

3. There is no tailpipe test for cars this new -- only an OBD2 scan.

Then crap... it's not CARB approved so looks like I'll need to live outside town. Thanks anyways

Please bear with me here and educate me. If you need an emissions sticker under the hood, then what are you all referring to? I'm coming from a state that doesn't even blink an eye at full straight pipes. I do have a catalytic converter in my front pipe.

No tail pipe test, just an OBD test. As long as you don't have a CEL you should be okay. Not sure about the visual, depends on if the guy at the car wash or gas station is concerned about the SC.

Sorry, apparently I wasn't subbed. I don't know if you've moved here yet, but...

The sticker they are looking for is the one under the hood that comes with the car. It says something like "vehicle emission control information". I don't even know why they look, but sometimes (or maybe just at some stations) they do. Unless you specifically removed it, it'll still be there.

Only Bernalillo County has emissions checks. That means that you can literally live in urban Rio Rancho, 10 ft from the Bernalillo county line on the west side of ABQ, and not have emissions checks while someone in the next neighborhood over does have checks.

There's also some unenforceable rule that says that people who commute into BernCo 60 or more days per year must get smogged, but I know of no one who does that.

Are there any meets in the ABQ area for the 86/Subaru group?

Also... why do so many people have missing tags?
