Thanks. Definitely will. Can't wait to get it back from the shop and get it back to stock. It'll be like a brand new car. Didn't think I'd get so many people hating on it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cuz it ran and all of the structural repairs were done already. All it needs is some interior pieces and some body work.
If you've ever been in the market for a recked car to rebuild you'd understand how valuable a running car with airbags is. Cosmetic damages are given in any wrecked car. No going around that. For the price I couldn't be happier. I should be able to get it on the road for around 10k, 11k at the most. And for a broke college student this is a dream come true.

Tromatic 04-22-2015 10:50 PM

Hey, OP! Bet you can pick up a trashed Release 1 in a few months, for cheap!

Is not painting the riveted-on junk the new thing?

I can't help but wonder - if the blue one is any indicator - what those rear quarters under the Rocket Bunny flares look like on the RS... It's a pity, really. That yellow looks great in person. Not my cup of tea, but it is a nice color.

It's been like that for a few months now. If he can afford bright yellow wheels I'm sure he can afford to paint his arches.

The stock RS1 has a fat-looking ass to start with. Some people like that.

If you are going to spend money making your car look like shit, at least fill the rivets and joints. I'm starting to suspect it's not about the way it looks, it's to show you can.

I read somewhere on his Instagram he has a sponsor, so he can definitely get his fenders painted

That looks like it could be a still photo from a really bad Michael Bay movie..

Xtreme-86 04-23-2015 01:22 AM

Looks decent to me. Not a big fan of unpainted flares but hey if he likes it so be it.
Op, hope you get your car to where you want it.

blue cat 04-23-2015 01:24 AM

Maybe if his steering wheel was attached he might not have so many crashes

You can not have a racecar if you don't have a QD wheel and your homie in the POS one-dead-cylinder Civic does. It sure doesn't seem to be making him a better driver.

zman 04-23-2015 02:52 AM

This dude literally took everything off from his old car to the new one.

Women seem to like it. Would I look stupid at 52 with gray hair, a flatbill and jacked-up looking car like that? As long as it brings the ladies, might be worth a try.

You got a point lol. If you like your car then women liking is just a bonus. At the same time there are limits on what you should do but his car, his life and his money so we can talk sh*t all day but that won't matter to him.

Yep! It is usually the older people with bigger debt loads that worry about resale value. For many out there that just isn't a factor. They are probably as confused about why we think resale is important as we are for why they just don't care.

Or, the other option is do what I do... pay cash for the car, drive it until it has no value and then you can do whatever you want to it because it just doesn't matter.

In my entire car history I think I have traded in one car that had more than a $1000 trade-in value. It was a red Saturn SC that I owned for two years, and just couldn't take it any longer. My last two daily drivers (one purchased new, one purchased one year old) had almost 300,000 miles on them when I "traded" them in. No regrets on anything I added to them.

As the previous owner of a red Saturn SC2 who had the car less than 2 years I can 100% understand..

It was my first GM purchase and I have not considered another outside a Corvette.

And I also learned the hard way that GM/Saturn cars depreciate like the Titanic... I was spoiled with Japanese cars.

Tromatic 04-23-2015 12:13 PM

Those of you who think that is ugly, please give your thoughts on what I could do to mine to make it even nastier than his jaundice-with-sarcoma FR-S. AFU seems to be what brings in the "hunnyz". I was thinking to big wings at least.

I've owned many GM products over the years, and that is truly the only one I regretted purchasing. They really seem on the up-swing these days, at least in the higher end of the spectrum (Trucks/Camaro/Corvette/Cadillac).

I was just lamenting to MomHawk this past weekend that I must be truly getting old in that I would seriously consider purchasing a Cadillac if we needed a larger car. Of course, it might have something to do with the specs on these babies...this is NOT my Father's Cadillac
