anything south of virgina and i feel like everyone from the northeast will be less inclined to go.

nyc would be awesome, but for those coming from out of state and planning on staying hotels might be expensive along with going in and out of the city if they want to stay in surrounding area. not to mention roads and traffic aren't ideal.

nj would be perfect. whether you're in south, central, or north, there's a good venue. hotels are cheaper than a major city. there's plenty to do with nyc, ac, and philly relatively close.

No one that lives outside of Jersey wants to go there. Sorry man just being honest.

IntotheOcean 02-15-2014 03:47 PM

I'm so excited! I'll have my car AND I'll get to meet some of my friends on the forum IRL! Yay ^_^

jonbonazza 02-15-2014 03:49 PM

Damnit... I was on the East coast when they had it on west coast in '13 and now I'll be on the west coast when they have it on the east coast this year... D:

Lol sorry, just happen to be that way

CruiseZen 02-16-2014 12:13 AM

The mid Atlantic area reaches the most people on the east coast. Where ever it is it needs to be accessible by car with ample parking. Thus areas like NYC should not be considered. Ideally an area with lots of hotels, ample parking, and a nearby track would be ideal.

IntotheOcean 02-16-2014 12:18 AM

I can't imagine it being very close to the city. But As long as it's not too far from an airport, since a people are gonna fly in I think we'll be fine :)

Yeah, I'll be flying in for this event ;)

STALL HARD 02-16-2014 01:06 AM

Orlando! There are plenty of hotels and it should be easy enough to get a group rate for us near wherever we do it.

wulfstan 02-16-2014 06:25 AM

Tail of the Dragon in NC, or Virginia International Raceway, or DC/MD... There are a lot of owners up there and shops in North VA/MD area... I'm sure we could cough up some sponsors as well from those guys knowing the strength of this car's configuration and if I don't drive up with the GT86, I'm sure I'll be there with the AE86... or both...

But I agree, no where near Norfolk/VA Beach... that's just asking for body shop repairs...

Springfest 2014 is in VA Beach in late April... but I live here and will be there anyways...

my .02 cents...

Johnny

Like at the Autobahn Country Club SW of Chicago.

ClifraJones 02-16-2014 10:04 AM

Orlando or Miami I'd come. But I'd say let's do it at the Tail Of The Dragon in the GA, NC, TN area. We could probably get a package deal at the TOD resort.

Agreed. I was in Charlotte about 3 yrs ago. Yall have A LOT of space.

Personally, I like the sound of Virginia, too. That's 8hrs for me.

@ClifraJones Cumming, GA? I used to live there from '04-'06. Exit 16 to be exact. Worked on Winward Pkwy.

Captain Insano 02-16-2014 02:25 PM

I say TN. It's right smack in the middle of Midwest/East.

I would love Chicago of course as that's only a 2 hr drive for me. But I think I would enjoy the driving at tail of the dragon the MOST compared to any other venue.

We moved here in '09 due to relocation from Florida. Didn't like anywhere we looked until we came up here.

Can't you just see a line of 86s taking 318 curves in 11 miles?

Captain Insano 02-16-2014 07:58 PM

Yes, it would be epic.

shaunsweeney 02-16-2014 08:23 PM

The Dragon isn't what it used to be. There is a lot more police presence now. Too many people were crashing and the locals got sick of it.

Turbowned 02-16-2014 08:32 PM

As much as I want it to be close to me I can understand a more central location like NJ/NY/DC. Just find a good spot and for the love of all things sacred, MAKE IT A SUNDAY NOT A SATURDAY!!!

MeFryRice 02-16-2014 08:35 PM

I also vote for TOTD. We could stay at Fontana Dam and if that is filled up then the overfill can crash in Robinsville.

I personally don't see the first East Coast to be large and now would be the time to do TOTD because next year will have even more people.

TRD4life 02-16-2014 08:49 PM

New Orleans!!!!

Awesome city, lots to see, and we also have a top-of-line motor park that's still being expanded! http://www.nolamotor.com/

That motor park recently held the largest gathering of LFA's in the country, if not the world! If we get enough numbers, I'm sure we can hold a special event at the park. We also got a pretty large C&C community that ranges from here to Baton Rouge and Lafayette.

shaunsweeney 02-16-2014 10:26 PM

Hm... It's all depends. Last yr, RTA had 86 challenge on Sunday, so we did our event on Friday & Saturday.

raytrix 02-16-2014 10:36 PM

Chicago. Midpoint for West and East coast.

saiyajinimports 02-17-2014 12:39 AM

chicago would be a good host for this event.

Again, US is too big to do it "central", just not happening.

Guff 02-17-2014 03:18 AM

As much as I would love to do Chicago, 80% of people would have to drive 15+ hours to get there...

The two places with the highest concentration of members is East and West coast...
