I don't, I'm waiting for the open flash tablet to get released. I don't like the dependency on a tuner with ecutek for the amount of money you spend, the tablet should be half the price with way more user control.

Hmm. I know not of which you speak. You plan to just street tune it or bring it to a dyno? Have you ever done anything like that before? I'm wondering how noob-friendly that would be.

southern_86 08-30-2013 10:19 AM

I'm planning on getting a tune from a pro and making small tweaks myself there will be a forum setup for everyone to share tunes, I used to self tune my 06 mustang with sniper software but obviously the FRS is much more complex. I'm hoping tony at fa20club would be willing to do a tune for me with it. There is a thread in the engine/exhaust section on it. They claim to be close to release and supposedly in the $500ish price point with the tuning software being a free download. Looks to be really similar to the Cobb accessport.

Oh, ok. I'll have to look into that.

southern_86 09-04-2013 10:28 AM

I probably should, I just never find the time. I'm usually pretty busy on weekends.

userjack6880 09-04-2013 10:25 PM

Wish there were more FR-S/BRZ owners in the Starkville area active here. I know there's another Raven FR-S and a Firestorm one here. Only glimpses of them, though.

ShutterSpeed 09-04-2013 11:57 PM

whats up neighbors. you guys seem more active than the LA chat thread.

Anthony 09-04-2013 11:59 PM

HEY. No Louisiana-anians in the MS thread. ;)

ShutterSpeed 09-05-2013 12:19 AM

ShutterSpeed 09-05-2013 12:21 AM

Oh, ok. You're good then. Florida people are fine, we're just incredibly racist towards LA people.

We had a meeting.

That blacked out bumper part, whatever you want to call it, looks awesome.

southern_86 09-05-2013 12:14 PM

Did you also black out your headlights? I may ride out with Zac to get some advice on that. I'm terrified to crack anything open. I want to do that at least until I get the spyder headlights that are coming out soon.

Yeah headlights and taillights. The headlights are pretty easy actually I can help you do that one day if you need. The tails were a major pita and didn't turn out very good though. I'm probably going to get the valenti tails. This is the best shot of the tails I have on my phone, they look OK from a distance but you can see all the mistakes up close.

RyanOver9000 09-05-2013 04:51 PM

Thank god my car is whiteout or we would have the same damn thing. I'm planning on getting Valenti Tails and reverse light as well.

Also, about time to get that tag updated huh?

southern_86 09-05-2013 05:01 PM

Lol I have, that pic was taken in April I think.

yeah main reason i wanted it was because of the color. i owned a silver 2007 civic before this and while it was easy to keep clean it was just so boring to look at.

and after havign cleared about 4 sets of headlights on the 8th gen civic, i can say it is very nerve racking baking headlights.

Haha that was the first thing I noticed.

MadModder 09-08-2013 04:28 PM

I'm from Jackson but have been living out of the country for a year. Bought a manual orange 86 over here and I am trying to bring her home with me! Mine came with fogs and all the underbody aero pieces and ofcourse it came with Toyota badges and the 86 emblems on the floor mats and steering wheel.

It now has charcoal head lights and tail lights, Miltek header back exhaust, Cusco drop-in filter, OZ ultraleggra 17"x7.5" wheels in matte gray, h&r sport line springs, h&r 20mm front spacers and 25mm rear, redline MT-90 trans fluid, and AP racing DOT5.1 brake fluid.

I'm in for December whiteout frs in picayune

Anthony 09-10-2013 04:19 AM

Haha you're already on the list, @missippipyledrvr. You're #8. And glad to hear about December. I'll organize it once the time gets closer. Maybe the first or second Saturday in December or something.

Silent_Dan 09-14-2013 12:55 PM

Ok guys an gals of North Mississippi, I think its about time we start trying to organize some kind of meet up.

It can be a one time thing, weekly, monthly or whatever.

And maybe we can organize a state wide meet sometime somewhere.

What are your thoughts on this?

Made a thread so that we don't spam the registry. :D

:thanks:

Anthony 10-06-2013 10:44 AM

Hmm... It's been a while since we've added any new members to the list. I'm wondering if it's because this thread got buried so much. So... bump in regards to that.

Also... For those of you that are planning on attending the meet in December, would there be any interest in a little photo shoot? I do a bit of the photagraphin' and am dying to make good use of my camera again. It's been like 5 months!!! This would require more of our time on the day of the meet, so just wondering about the interest in such a thing. If ya'll like this idea and are willing to get real serious about it, I have an automotive rig (for those fancy rolling shots you see on magazine covers and such) I could bring. I normally charge people no less than $100 for me to make use of it, but I'm craving a good shoot, so I'd be happy to do it for the free.

southern_86 10-06-2013 11:07 AM

I'm down for pictures. I've been dying for a rolling shot of my car.

Anthony 10-06-2013 11:26 AM

Well I am willing to hook it up. We can do either traditional rolling (ride along) or use the rig.

userjack6880 10-07-2013 09:24 AM

As a person who dabbles a little with photography on the side, go for the photoshoot.

Que? Are you suggesting others should go, or are you saying you'll want to go because of this?

I may have completely worded that wrong. :bonk:

My response should have been:

As a person who dabbles in photography on the side, sometimes photo shoots can just be fun. The photo shoot would be a great idea, you should go for it, because it is fun.

I want to go just because I want to go. It's a good chance to meet other 86 owners and I should be down there anyways. When is this again?

spgrizz22 10-07-2013 11:19 AM

I would be down for this even though I only have an exhaust, intake, and a custom build trunk amp and sub box. Also, where would we meet up?

Anthony 10-07-2013 11:23 AM

Mods don't matter. Hell, I'd even be inerested in meeting people that are just thinking of buying one.

I'm thinking we should do it in Biloxi. NOLA and the Pensacola area already have little meets every now and then, so this is kind of centered between those two. Plus there are a few drivers in Biloxi that aren't on the forums that could be convinced to go. I figured we could meet on the beach by the light house because most people know where that is, and for those that don't, it's ridiculously easy to get to.
