so I've downloaded the new GT Academy 2013 /GT6 demo ... lots of familiar territory. First impression was, wow they really demonstrate the amount of body roll on the Leaf. Maybe GT5 did so too but I didn't spend much time driving the Leaf in that game. :) Graphics and interface are not changed much, over GT5 so I am a little disappointed. Fun to be able to try a new track (Silverstone) right off the bat though. Perhaps true to the real deal but it feels very flat and there's not much scenery so it's not really a great demonstration of the graphic abilities of the PS3/GT6.

Nice, went home during lunch and its downloading as we speak :D. Not really crazy about Silverstone, didn't really enjoy it in Forza, the place is sooooo flat you can't see what is coming up, you really have to know the track or focus on the markers to gauge your breaking points.

How did the new physics feel? Apparently they worked with KW and Yokohama to develop it, so we'll see how they did ;). Pretty excited, even (reluctantly) stopped by gamestop to reserve a copy.

yeah I don't know the Silverstone circuit at all so it's proving very difficult for me. After getting through the warmup races now I'm trying to learn the Silverstone for the final qualifier. I don't think I'm going to be a contender, it's hard enough for me to earn the golds and people are already -2s from that. :(

the physics feels good, but doesn't feel all that different from before (GT5) to me. Still having trouble keeping the 370Z under control and on the track at speed, so it's definitely a challenge. Like the other GTAs before this, it feels like a lot of painful repetition as you try and retry and retry, like the license tests.

Still not sure, maybe my internet connection? This is my first time attempting to play GT5 online, and I've gotten two blank screens at race start over the past two days. Very frustrating as I was looking forward to the WRX race. I think I could hear the race going on through your BT headset? Haha.

From your PS3's network settings, see if you have a NAT Type 1 or Type 2 connection. If you have a Type 3 connection that's the slowest one and you won't have very good online experience. I'm not really sure how you can ensure you have a 1 or 2 though, I had to play around with my router settings until it got better, perhaps by assigning a unique and fixed IP address instead of letting it automatically determine one. ** I'm not a network admin I just play one on TV ** :D

Yeah, kinda lame that you only get 2 cars, but it is a Nissan sponsored event. Graphics wise, other than the non-jagged shadow I spot here and there, doesn't seem like that big of a leap, must just be the PS3 hardware limiting it. I do like the new physics engine, seems like you can feel the suspension move around more under you and the tires seem to have a little bit more progressive grip loss as you push, so you can gauge grip levels. Overall I like it, except for the fact that I suck at it. Let the endless loop of try...f-up...restart begin!

yeah, a little disappointing and makes me a bit less excited about GT6 coming. But I'll almost certainly buy it anyways LOL. The main thing the demo/GTA2013 has going for it is the new Silverstone circuit and new physics, but nothing that makes you say wow. Also for the US GT Academy they should have used one of the US winners' faces not one of the Euro guys! (I'm distant friends with Bryan H. the US winner from 2 years back).

Also who knew that the 370z has way more body roll than my FR-S??

^lol I think I like the body roll, seems more realistic. Definitely felt alot of body roll during autoX in my BRZ.

Drop that AT&T connection and grab Comcast! I haven't had issues with them since I had it for the past 2 years.

I doubt it haha. My friend has no issues with them and he had the service just as long as I did. Maybe it's just the benefits of living in S.F, better quality service haha.

Sorry, I was out driving in the real world and then meeting with the MR2 guys tonight. But if you ever wanna drive my Toscana course I think I have it shared so that you can play it online even when I am not around. Or of course you can use the course maker and design your own version. ;) My favorite locations from the maker are Toscana and Mt. Aso.

Ohhh I see how it is, driving in the real world, too cool for GT5 anymore haha. But I did play around with the course maker last night, it doesn't let you customize as much as I hoped. I just ended up driving around my makeshift course for a while practicing my drifting skills.

Haha Yeah that's how it is. ;)

The course maker doesn't let you design actual turns, it just lets you adjust the complexity and width of the track. It randomly generates a course, but you can keep flipping through them until you find one that you like.

I'm still stuck on trying put down a good lap on that stupid GT6 demo :mad0259: lol

What's your best ranking so far?

I gave up on that after like 6 tries. I honestly had more fun racing the Leaf than being frustrated trying to put down a fast sector time in that 370Z. I didn't even bother with anything past the first sector haha

I don't even remember my ranking, haha, I'm pretty slow since I'm using the wheel (I'm actually alot faster on the controller) just trying to get a silver. The GT-R is actually quite fun. Jumping from the 370Z to the GT-R felt eerily like jumping from the WRX to the BRZ (a lot less body roll, "lighter" feeling, etc.)
