So what are you hoping for? Would you rather your insurance company total it or have them do the repairs?

Even if the crash bar wasn't hit, the frame could be misaligned- even the slightest shifts in the frame could change the car dramatically. I'd also be worried about the engine and the rest of the drivetrain.

Whatever happens, I hope everything works out to the best outcome. Good luck Kevin!

_F-R-S_ 01-21-2013 08:00 AM

Yea the engine is pushed into the cabin sine that took most of the impact. Scary having a car this low

cwb48 01-21-2013 09:46 AM

Man, sorry to hear about your car. I guess I missed my chance to see your mods.

sorry to hear. glad you are ok

did your airbag go off?

BoostinIX 01-21-2013 07:43 PM

Wow that blows...glad you're ok though.

Oddly enough, we were just talking about how we should find a wrecked one to turn into a future drift car.

Skip buying 240, get a replacement DD FR-S (That you don't snip wires on...), buy this back and make it your track car.

Those tires were new and it had some protectant over them i didnt even put 10 miles on them so it just slid

neutron256 01-21-2013 10:31 PM

No airbag and hit somewhere between 70 and 40mph. Ouch I'm glad you're alright but I hope this makes you rethink after market steering wheels.

kanundrum 01-21-2013 10:50 PM

Oh ok yea was making sure the SUV cause he said he was worried about the other people. I don't think they probably got hurt much, probably felt like crap the day after

You might want to hold off on cars for the time being.. That sounds... like a possible lawsuit I'm afraid...

_F-R-S_ 01-22-2013 02:01 PM

Just have to wait an see and take it from their

kanundrum 01-22-2013 02:04 PM

Thats what car insurance is for, it protects you from lawsuits etc. The Insurance company represents you. Therefore if anyone is going to sue they have to go thru the insurance company fist. How bad was the person hurt? Could they walk?

Kevin said that everybody was discharged the same day of the accident, so that's pretty reassuring. But then there are some greedy bastards with asshole lawyers. It'll make it interesting to see what it does to Kevin's insurance rates. I've heard of some people having insurance rates (after a major accident) shoot up as high as most car payments.

@_F-R-S_ Did they total your car? Have you seen your car to look at the condition of the aftermarket parts? I don't think the front BC coilovers, Cusco front subframe brace, and your cusco front strut tower bars will survive.

kanundrum 01-22-2013 04:01 PM

Thats all that matters. Some people yes maybe greedy, being on the other end of the situation is a different story as well either way both parties are alive and well and thats the best we can hope for!

_F-R-S_ 01-22-2013 05:17 PM

Coilovers and all afermarket parts are ok

RiceCooker 01-23-2013 09:03 AM

No words can describe the sorrow I now feel for you loss.

I'm glad you're alright though. It looks like it could have been a lot worse, especially without that bag.

I'll pour some gasoline out for our lost homie on my next fill up. Though..that might be illegal...
