You guys are being a bit rude. Looking at his old posts, they're not all idiotic.

The short answer is that there is no perfect amount of horsepower.

The medium answer is MOAR!

The long answer is that it depends on the car's setup and purpose. I'd be satisfied with a couple thousand.

Only 2,2L; it should fit.

There need be no limit to the amount of power that the engine can deliver. Remember that your foot controls the application of power.

So, build the drivetrain with as much power as you can afford and much like spices, dispense to taste.

If you want a feel for what can be done with the FRS chassis and high torque swaps, look no further than the Miata V8 conversions. There are plenty around, and I can tell you from experience that they are amazing to drive in a way that no 4 cylinder Twin could ever hope to be.

1000 hp seems like a decent starting point.

If I had the money I would go for 2500hp just to say I could.... but I am poor :(

The proper engine swap is a Pratt & Whitney F119.

My sister works for Pratt and used to sell those...

F22 Raptors used this engine if I recall correctly...

Maybe we can setup a group buy? :D
