Turned into a cool thread. There were so many that I had forgotten about but a lot of the ones mentioned so far are more platform sharing vehicles (like I said in the op, GM blah) than true twins.
I like the Starion/Conquest though, they were so similar and I had nearly forgotten about them. I wanted a Starion Turbo so bad. My best friends mom had one that we used to cruise in all the time, fcker would never let me drive it though. Same with the 3000GT/Stealth, they were cool. |
I went through a period where I wanted a 3000GT something fierce.

The base models of those cars are all pretty crap. The uprated versions though are tiny terrors. If I can find it, I'll link the huge graph that shows who owns who in the car world. It explains 99% of the existence of "twins." Oh, but here's a real fun one... MKII Supra and Lotus Excel |
Wow! How could you forget these two legendary cars:
Dodge Aries K / Plymouth Reliant K |
Bentley Continental / Chrysler 300
Mazda RX-7 FD3S / Chevrolet Corvette C5 |
What about the 98-02 Toyota corolla/chevy prism, 90's Honda passport/ Isuzu rodeo, the ford tempo/mercury topaz, Mitsubishi raider/dodge dakota

Lexus IS300 is not a Toyota Altezza twin. Honda Integra is not an Acura Integra twin. And even our very own Scion FRS is not a Toyota GT86 twin. But it is twins with the Subaru BRZ. A Dodge stealth is twins with a Mitsubishi 3000gt. Two very different companies in a joint venture collaboration. Not two departments of the same company making two similar cars. |
