Saw a red in the showroom last Friday (6/22) at Gerald. First time seeing the BRZ in person... too bad by 6/29, that one was gone. Plus, since Gerald wants to people to pay 3 to 5k over MSRP, I may as well use points to buy it out of state and then break in the engine on my way back to Wheaton.

Anyway, FWIW, I'd highly recommend Grand. Whatever crap they've gotten online, they seem honest and Bill the salesman is an autocrosser.

Hey guys! My name is Adam, and I picked up an this Argento yesterday from Anderson Toyota in Rockford. Originally had a deposit on a Whiteout at Classic Toyota in Waukeegan, but after a month of waiting, and no updates from the dealer, I took the matter into my own hands. I really needed a car to get around, so I settled on my second color choice with this Argento FR-S.

This seems like a lively forum, and I hope to meet some fellow auto enthusiasts.

Here is a quick phone pic I took once I got her home:

I saw that too.

But in any case, welcome!

which reminds me, I better request the dealer to not drill mine when it comes in. Congrats on the purchase though, I have a Whiteout on order, but Argento was definitely my second option as well.

What dealer?

SportInjected 07-05-2012 02:27 PM

Thanks guys, and yes, since I discovered the car through cars.com, they already mounted the front plate bracket during the PDI.

I think if you don't want your FR-S front plate bracket installed in Illinois, you have to be there when the truck arrives and escort it through the dealership till they hand you the keys.

philstar 07-05-2012 11:19 PM

If i request it, I dont see an issue. Although I may have to constantly remind them time and time again.. I hate front plates.

I have two friends who have received their FR-S's without the front bumper drilled here in Illinois. I never thought twice about it until it was mentioned above.

Regardless, I just want the damn thing already so I can start tracking and drifting it asap

I didn't request no bracket, my dealer had the foresight to leave it off and ask me when I picked it up. :respekt:

I think this is what every dealer should do. They know that the car is aimed towards enthusiasts, and most people aren't going to want the front bracket. And even if they do, it takes seconds to put on.
