Dealership is sold on DI pump. Probably not going to be warranty, but here's hoping.

Found this too

Dealership is going to warranty my pump.

So happy. I hope that's it.

Thanks for keeping us updated. It could be a wonky seal or something that vibrates as pressure is lost... From what I understand the pump itself is a pretty simple mechanism.

Deadspool 03-07-2014 09:43 PM

Well, its not the DI pump.

Ugh.

Ok, so the frequency of the noise does not change with engine speed, I can still hear it at the same speed be it 1k rpm or 2k rpm, after that i loose it in the over all engine noise.

its doing it more frequently as it is warmed up, but its not consistent.

WHAT DARK MAGIC IS THIS

Another video, highlighting its inconsistency

Sounds like it stops when the engine stops spinning to me, am I just hearing this incorrectly? Also is there a difference if you have the clutch pedal pressed down?

nelsmar 03-09-2014 05:54 PM

Also try disconnecting the brake master cylinder and plugging it to see if it some how oddly coming from there?

Ill try the master cyl. I will try nearly anything at this point.

this second video i just posted has it stop at about the same time, in the first video it stops way after the motor stops, and typically it will make this noise as is relieving pressure, or a bearing is spinning down.

No difference in clutch depression, or rpm. pulled the serpent belt off, no change there.

It hasn't gotten worse, or better, it comes and goes with only the consistency that I will hear it every time I drive.

I also cant locate the area with the old screw driver to the ear trick. it sounds almost like it is under the intake manifold or towards the rear of the motor. Its very hard to tell.

Deadspool 03-09-2014 07:30 PM

No luck at all, tried taking the serpent belt off again as well. Nothing effects the squeaking.

woode 03-09-2014 07:34 PM

Is it coming from the driver's side of the engine?
