I it is a car for driving at 8/10ths and around town , not for spirited people. When you hit 10/10ths the flaws in the design rear their ugly head and it falls to pieces encouraging you to drive lazilly and rely on power.

The bells and whistles and the hatchback functionality were nice in the Veloster - but for my money, I'd have bought a Focus ST. Costs more yes, but their bells are shinier and their whistles are more refined. Also 50 more HP.:D

sadly, this was the ultimate reason i went with an frs. every subie dealership hit me with the same "hard-to-come-by" story because they are able to mark up the prices on the brz. dealers would only have one available... visually, and marked up to almost sti msrp! i wont bad mouth any particular dealership, but there was one i was working with for a bit that were trying to sell me on the one they had on the showroom floor, when they actually had 3 others on the roof of the building. i could be wrong, maybe California dealers are different, but i'd be willing to bet if you told them what color and options you wanted and were willing to pay whatever they asked, they'd find you one in 48hrs.

That was what I saw when I was shopping. Every Subaru dealership wanted 3000-5000 dollars over sticker price for their BRZs. What I find funny though is that many of the dealerships that were selling BRZs way over sticker price still have 2013s on the lot and they're all marked down several thousand dollars now.

I wonder how many dumb people paid the 3000-5000 bucks over sticker price for their BRZs though, I almost kind of feel bad for them.
