205/55-16 are the stock tire size for the stock 16" wheels. 225/50-16 and 205/55-16 are the same exact diameter of24.9" I already have 225/50-16 Hankook RS-3's mounted on 16x7 Enkei RS-5's that my brother is using on his Impreza 2.5 RS - I want to try those out...
I had 15x8 wheels with 225/45-15 Nitto NT-01 tires on the Integra RS, the Honda engineers didn't intend for that combo either but it handled and felt better than stock (of course there were other changes as well...). You can't get a FF or FR car to be quick enough steering/responsive for my taste - I like quick/minute/fine-tuned input vehicles: Picture |
I actually like em smaller. I don't know why but I like 14/15 inch wheels on small cars, any bigger and it just doesn't seem to look right imo. This car or any other modern car will never have wheels that small though.

I think it's just the style. They do look kinda like old-school Watanabes:

I do remember that bit because it didn't sit right with me. |
Wonder how much it would be for a set of those 16"s - I need winter wheels anyway...

I actually like the 16" as well. I think the reason why it looks better is because it looks more balanced. The wheel gap of the 17" really stood out because the thinner sidewall on the tires. The 16" has fatter sidewall so it balances out the wheel gap better.

While i don't necessarily like the style of the wheel, i do LOVE the fact that they are 16s. I have 16s on my personal car, and am not interested in going larger. Tires are affordable, and it makes the car look a bit more menacing when you add in a decent drop.
And i KNOW for a fact that people will be lowering this car and going through a TON of tires. We certainly will... Chase |

, and tire width, even at 18 inches, can safely grow to as much as 235 – but only in the rear. The front tires need to stay at 215. They don't say why. Other people that have measured have pointed out the fenders are prerolled and could take 245+. |
