lighter springs in the front will promote more over steer. the reason between the two different spring sets is to try to retain the characteristics of the stock springs, in wich subaru is supposedly stiffer in the front.

Ive driven my car on the road course in completely stock form with both factory tires and 225/45/17 advan neovas. The car has a higher tendency to understeer than I had originally hoped for. If you have an frs, i feel the spring rate stagger is necessary and the swift springs definitely helps the car rotate just enough without being tail happy.

i ordered mine from modern automotive performance, great to deal with and fast shipping.

i guess im still torn between the frs spring rates vs the brz. ive never driven a brz so im not sure how the the handle differs on brz compared to the frs. i guess ill have to wait till i do the hpde event to see if the stock frs feels tight or loose and go from there.

Are cutting bump stops necessary?

No I didn't. It rides phenomenal.

I cut mine - It was really simple to do. I was hesitant at first b/c I thought that if I wanted to go back to stock height, I would now have to buy new stops. However, after seeing my car with the swift springs and new wheels, I will never put the stock springs back on. The ride is amazing too!

I'm adding Koni's next week, just want to make sure I measure correctly, therefore how much did you cut?

Steve 06-15-2013 05:49 PM

how much rear camber was added after the springs installed?

you could cut, but you dont have to cut. it's up to u.
how much? up to u. the manufacturer does not suggest the cut.

Thank you!
The new Swift (BRZ) springs on my daughters FRS is everything we expected.

Yeah, mine too. they need to fix that.

just wondering, will it be better to run the brz springs on the frs? or just run the frs made ones? I mainly care about handling with no understeer.

I too was pleasantly surprised after installing the swift springs on my frs. I was never one to buy lowering springs after driving cars with lowering kits in the past that made the cars handle horribly. But I just couldnt stand the 4x4 height and was highly recommended this brand by a buddy that runs these on his GTR. This is more of a dd/weekend car for me but it does see the autox course fairly often along with the road course every once in a while. The car transitions much better than stock and they seem to suit the factory dampers perfectly. One thing I noticed after driving on these springs is how well they ride on the street, given the aggressive springrates they somehow feel more comfortable than stock. Although these will probably stay on my car for a couple more months until my AST dampers come in so they might be up FS soon :burnrubber: Speaking of which, does anyone have experience with swift coilover springs?

I do have experience with swift coilover springs. Swift makes great quality coilover springs.
