It makes me wonder how accurately scaled that pic is. The FRS/BRZ is only about 3" shorter in height but it looks like about a foot in that pic. Also, as a Genesis owner, my car looks much smaller then a Mustang. The pic makes them look almost the same size

I still think Miata's are a bit too small so now Im even more worried about the FR-S not fitting properly, but I am excited for all the new technology in it!

The genesis coupe is not small at all, in fact I'd say it's damn near the same size as a mustang.

hey how about adding ,more car to the list on caparisoning. like Pontiac g6 coupe, solstice...
anyone any other ideas

MTD 12-05-2011 03:43 PM

It's a few inches lower and about 6" shorter in length. A Miata is a out 5" lower then a Gen but it looks much more in that pic. Regardless, the 86 will be bigger then a Miata.

Went to test drive an elantra and walked by a row of genesis coupes (which WAS on my car list). After seeing how huge and boat like they were, it was axed immediately. It's probably hard for him to visualize since he sees it every day. Plus the styling is a sleeker more aerodynamic design compared to the boxy muscle car design of the mustang.

They all look like boats compared to 90's sports cars. Throw an NSX in there and see how tall that is...

btw i just sat in a v8 mustang today. Not sure which model was it, it was not stock. OMG! Almost pissed myself in joy like a little puppy. Sounded like thunder. The idle of the v8 was rocking the whole car bavk and forth... aaarghhh

I love the mustang, which says a lot considering how ugly it is. It's still better looking than the camaro imo, but really when has chevy ever made a good looking car aside from the corvette.

Agreed. RX7 was perfect.

It did get too big. The Miata is based on the RX-8 platform, and when Mazda designed the RX-8 they decided that people wanted more practicality from their sports cars so they made it a true four seater instead of 2+2.

All the rumours I've read seem to point to the opposite happening next time around. The Miata will be smaller and designed first. If ever an RX re-appears it would be based on the Miata instead. That would be promising since in a lighter car, most of the rotary disadvantages are mitigated (ie: lower torque would be acceptable and fuel economy would be better)

Wow! I had no idea it was so small! I am loving this car more and more with every thread I click on

Can anyone compare it to a Saturn Sky? I feel like it's a similar size.
