The question is whether this (rattles) is a design defect or something that is actually part of the design (low sound deadening/rubber to keep weight down).

Also I think some people are overly sensitive to little, normal, noises this car makes here and there because its brand new

The main ones that bother me are the rear deck and the center dash where the radio is. Those bother me the most. Tomorrow I am going to try the rear deck fix and then take my car into the dealer to fix the other rattle. After that track down the others and fix them one by one.

My ds door panel rattles like crazy from speakers. I pin pointed it to the window control switches. Dealer say they didnt notice the loud rattle and buzz, I will bring back and show them where its coming from.

Hell, my old 1st gen tC had a ton of rattles. I remember those days....and all the adhesive Velcro I used to stop the rattles.

I was getting some bad rattles from my passenger side door all the time. It drove me so mental that I would have to either put the volume so low that the bass wouldn't rattle the door or I would have to put the volume so high that the music would drown out the rattle. But I think I've found the FIX!

If you lock your doors, the door rattle instantly stops!

I want a 1200kg nimble car with no rattles. There are lighter, nimbler cars (Lotus Elise) with no rattles. Cars should not rattle/squeak/leak/drip/vibrate in this day and age, there are whole departments just for NVH.

If this car has these problems, fire the entire NVH group since they are incompetent and reduce the price of the car a few thousand. Just sayin..

While I agree the car shouldn't have rattles...I think the Elise is the poster child for a car that rattles. :D

lol i feel like swinging in for service and asking them why my car rattles so much lol................... The look on their faces would be priceless.

The auto industry has been around over 100 years. There is no excuse for rattles.

Thats called a Lexus...

I have approx 3800mi and no rattles to report.I also go out of my way to avoid bad roads on the way to and from work.I am a pothole dodger more so now than i was with my 4D wrangler with 35's.

Our cars go through extremes, hots and colds, speaker blowing bass, careless drivers, heavy chassis tweaking. If you drove this car like it was full of nitroglycerin ,Im sure it would remain rattle free...but the reality is we don't.
If your car is really new and rattling, then I would say it was some faulty part and isolated incident.

czar07 11-01-2012 06:59 PM

The car definitely has rattles, but they arent annoying because im paying attention to driving rather than bitching, which is what 99% of the guys on these forums do
