Shame you couldn't make it work. As I said, I felt the same way about it :(
Forwarded your post to a few friends who expressed interested in a TRD in the GTA. GLWS!

Greased the clutch fork. Sounded pretty bad this morning on the way into the gym.

Had a fun action packed weekend.

Saturday I signed up for my first autocross session. Purely a fun run, my class is stacked with heavily prepped miatas on 200tw rubber. No way in hell my setup would be competitive :D .
Really pushed the limits of the Advan V105s the entire time, more like I overdrove them  .
Lots to learn, but by the 6th run I was actually focusing a bit more on line and keeping the tires happy. It's a lot harder to follow cones and not get lost, mess up your line.

Clipped a couple runs together with my dashcam.

I also signed up for a lapping night at calabogie this evening. Three 30 minute runs, in a three car pod with lead car getting an instructor. Sort of a beginners format.
Last session I led and had a blast. Was able to get about 8/10 out of the car at times while overall being mindful of others and setting pace for the pod.
I need to sift through my dashcam footage. Might upload something if the footage is any good.

The guys at powersports garage(onsite garage at CMP) came in clutch for me squeezing me in for a last minute alignment. I somehow managed to badly throw out the toe on left rear wheel at autocross. My steering wheel was off center and the car just didn't feel right.

One of few cars that make the twins look like a boat! And it has a turbo making about 400whp :eyebulge:

I ordered some odds and ends for the interior that have all shown up. Window shopping turned into a bulk order

- Door hinge covers
- Wiring to add in the door courtesy lights.(2017 86 base doesn't include light or harness)
- A door courtesy light mod, to add a logo projection onto the ground. Advertised to Look like this
- Leather wrap steering wheel skin X 2 (Perforated leather and a OEM leather type)
- Reverse lockout(Black)
- Shift knob

So far I've only got around to installing the reverse lockout and threw the shift knob on. It's weighted similarly to stock. It feels good in the hand, very similar to the stock knob.

Not usually a fan of carbon fiber, but that plate and knob look quite good! Where did you get the reverse lockout? Looking for a black one myself that doesn't have a massive logo on it (ahem Raceseng, Perrin).

So far the entire interior "build" has come from AliExpress. I've been impressed with the quality and price. I noticed a bunch of items I bought are now showing up for sale via US retailers at double the cost.

I decided to give stiching on my own leather steering wheel cover a go. I had a few options on finish, straight leather, leather with perforated grip, suede and tacky faux carbon.
Ordered a perforated cover and ended up getting a bonus OEM looking leather for free. Replacing the wheel was an option but this is budget friendly at $20 vs several hundred for a new wheel.

Reason for this project. Lots of scratches like these on the wheel from my zipper last year.

About mid way through. Having never done any type of sewing this was a learning curve to say the least. Very tedious work that requires a lot of patience.

Finished result. I'm mostly happy with how it turned out, I didn't use provided double sided tape as instructions said they weren't nesssary. On these wheels they are, especially right around the tight sections where the wheel controls are. Tape would get it to sit exactly as OEM.
The beauty of figuring out how this works is that I can go back now and cut out sections and redo them as nesssary. Or just pull it off and reinstall it again.

Ordered a couple of things.
Took advantage of BF sales and ordered a Fujistubo authorize S axleback.

Also ordered a Sony XAV-AX5500 headunit with install hardware via Crutchfield, and a set of Polk DB652 door speakers. Trying to go through my overall sound setup and whether to keep the dash speakers or pull them to not deal with potential issues with noises clashing.

Will probably upgrade the factory amp at some point. A friend seems to think the headunit upgrade will help sound quality with better sound processing etc. I'm out of my depth when it comes to audio Knowledge, so this should be fun.

Edit: Axleback is backordered til February 2022. :(

Final piece of the interior black out is now in. I also have a black hand brake button to delete the plasti-chrome. Might finally toss that on now that everything else is done.

Also sourcing another factory wheel. Will be pulling mine to take time to get my stitched wheel wrap perfect.

Forgot I ordered these carbon overlays that sit near the door handles.
Wasn't sure when I saw them on the packaging but they actually look decent installed.

Picked up a torque solutions short shifter. Looks to be a copy of the kartboy which is now discontinued.
https://i.imgur.com/E48xRix.jpeg

Install was mostly straightforward all though I ran into a couple small snags. I had to partially destroy my trim overlay to get the center console out :( .
Installing the pin on the gear selector rod into the shifter was not as simple as what is described and shown in videos.

I was able to get the pin half way in by hand before jamming up. Fiddled with it for a while before eventually used a bar clamp to press fit it through.

General idea of how much shorter the shifter physically is compared to stock. Top is installed, bottom is stock shifter.

I need some time to live with it before I can form a opinion. Intial impressions much stiffer feel between gears.

The supplier where I ordered the fujistubo axleback weren't able to get it from their new supplier, so I decided to bail on the idea after looking at the cost increases to get my hands on one.

Grabbed a greddy SP to try out.
Fits nicely in the trunk without the massive box!

First impressions are that it's quiet overall but boomy at low rpm. From 1500-2700 it drones a bit under load which I find annoying for a DD. Enough that I will be welding in a second resonator. Ideally a vibrant ultra quiet resonator but the midpipe may need to be hacked up to clearance it.

Light revs with full throttle pass with pass launch control. Then light throttle shifting at 3000rpm under constant load.
