The longest I have ever kept a car previously was maybe 4 years. This one is 6+ so far.

I knew when I started modding that I'd never get back any of my costs on resale but did it anyway. Sometimes I regret it financially but I do love the car so it's all good.

It will go when something forces it to. For example when my almost 11 yr old eventually needs space for his car. Could be quite a few more years.

On the other hand I recently quit my job of 17+ years due to games and dissatisfaction with my employer (should have grown balls and did it 6 years earlier) and a connection wants me to go see a guy I kinda know that has a pre-owned prestige car dealership very close to where I live. Apparently his right hand man is retiring soon. I am aprehensive to sell cars as it was a tough grind when I bounced around doing it in my early to mid 20's.

However, as a lifelong salesman I gotta do something that can meet my financial needs and of course with pre-owned Porsches and stuff it might be tempting for me to try one for a bit.

In summary, it would have to be something very satisfying to drive for me to consider changing.

Currently evaluating that one. Possibly until next year, possibly never. My fiance likes convertibles, so might change my toy to a Miata or something. Maybe this becomes my actual DD. Maybe the engine goes in a few months and becomes a swap candidate.

Originally was thinking of keeping it forever, but having a house/garage, second car, getting married, being wiser, and evolution of technology means priorities change.

Depending on how the new Supra turns out (basically whether they end up offering it with a manual, I could maybe settle for a DCT), once those reach a price I can afford I will consider trading

Nah, if I'm ok with DCT, I would rather wait a few years and get a Alfa Qulia Quadrofolio on steep dealer discount......... those are gonna worth way more in the future, it's not like we gonna daily either of those car.

My 11 and 12 year old sons talk about my FRS all the time. Kids love the car because there is some YouTube kid named Tanner Fox or something like that who has one. I get “hey cool car” from kinds more than anything else. Hahaha

My original plan was to hold onto this car for a while and then get a 2017 and then hand the 2013 down to one of my sons.

Until it rusts out or gets totalled! I've been jumping between cars since I bought my first one, I think this car is everything I need in a vehicle

The longest I've held onto a car was either this one or my 93 Miata at 6 years. My plan with this car is to keep it indefinitely. Seeing as how I also have a truck, my FRS will not necessarily be a daily driver. More of a weekend and road trip car. Well, the truck is the go to work car. The FRS will be everything else. The only thing tempting me away from this car is a new 2019 Miata. But I like not having a car payment. hehe Who knows, maybe I'll buy another Miata and keep this car. Either way, I'll always have a sports car and a truck of sorts.

Dang hahahaha I hope that your car neither rusts nor gets totalled. I want to be able to pull mine out of the garage 2 decades from now and have the oem paint nice and shiny and the car in good shape.

Sweeeeeeet! Lucky kid you have :D He gets one of the best affordable sports car out there!

The first day I see this car, I know it is gonna be forever.

Even though I might purchase a weekend car like FD3S or other cars, but this will be my daily and track car. I just enjoy it too much driving it every day.

Planning to keep mine until it's 10years old, so 2023, because of the bumper to bumper insurance that will expire that year. Than I guess I'll see if it's worth to keep it.
