Nice thread and welcome back. Curious to hear your thoughts on those exhaust hangers. I didn’t even know that was a thing lol

Probably gonna install the cusco pedal over the weekend

I just installed the Cusco pedal last week and attended a track day. Very noticeable difference. Do yourself a favor pull the pedal assembly out of the car and attach the pedal extender on a bench. Super easy off the car but I couldn't imagine doing it in the car due to the limited space. 2 10's(or 12's, I don't recall) and 1 connector and it pulls right out.

I may add some washers behind the mounting assembly to raise the height up about 2-4mm's as well at some point.

Hey hey thanks for the reply. And thanks for the welcome back! I havent installed it yet but the concept kind of makes sense.

From what i read the stock hangers cancel out the exhaust resonance for the stock exhaust.

The new ones i got cancels out / dampens the resonance for after market exhausts. Im assuming since its a lot deeper. Which in turn lessens the droning.

Part# is: 44066AJ010 if youre interested

Ill definitely put my thoughts here once i install them (maybe this weekend)

Oooooh didnt think of that. Definitely helps my back. Ill add washers as well just so i can get the height. Did you use the sticker rubber thingy that comes with it?

Yeah that rubber pad goes in-between the factory pedal and Cusco pedal has a sort of insulation. Make sure to add washers or something else to space out the pedal stop the same amount you raise the pedal assembly height as well.

My idiot brain thought of putting washers on the mounting bracket of the cusco extender :bonk: this video helped a lot

Thanks thanks i might have to raise it with the washers i have lying around!

Thoughts on the "JDM" Exhaust Hangers:

In case you missed it, i am referring to these

So I installed it just now and drove around a few times, i did notice that the drone inside the cabin quieted down a little bit but not enough to make it worth importing from Japan

I would assume it just changed the frequency of the drone to make it more bearable but what I dont like about it was it introduced a different set of noise inside the cabin: Rattle

Somehow there's more panels rattling with this exhaust hangers compared with the stock one. i couldn't identify where it is to the point i already deleted my 3rd brake light and there's still rattle around 3k RPM range

Currently debating whether to put the stock back or not. Might depend if i can find the rattle.

@autoracer86 idk if this tagging thing works but i just installed the exhaust hangers

Cusco Pedal Installed

Thanks to @2.2Lude 's suggestion i was able to install the Cusco Pedal a lot easier than if i left it inside the vehicle.

Attachment 224980

Literally had to juggle between the extender and the actual pedal just to align it properly.

I also added 2 washers before i installed the pedal back. and as you can see on the previous picture, i added a washer on the pedal stop just to account for the height change.

Attachment 224981

Overall i think it's a good mod since the throttle is a bit far for me. Definitely need to adjust my footing just so I'm not braking + throttling unless heel-toeing.

Another skill im trying to get is how to heel-toe. hopefully this extender would help with that!

Thanks for the update. Funny timing as I was reading that older 21 page thread on them lol

Lool yup i was also reading it just now. Seems i have to wait for it to settle to fully see the effects. Hopefully it settles and the rattling goes away!

Update June 7th

Drove around the car to give it another shot and surprisingly the droning went significantly down.

Rattling on the other hand went up.

pulled my hair out to find the rattle but still unable to but i was at least able to dampen it thanks to this post

On other News, i finally found an event where i can Autocross where I'm at.

If youre in Edmonton and doing the Stratocross #3, please let me know as i'd like to meet you!
