Back in the 60's in Coleman Barracks, Germany, I shared a suite in the BOQ (Bachelor Officer Quarters) with a one Lt Blankenship. He had been an EM (enlisted man) and graduated from OCS (Officer Candidate School) to get his commission. He was a tall, thin wiry fellow. Every morning he would drink a large flip top bottle of beer as he shaved and showered. He would then have another, as we drove into the post. He survived two tours in Vietnam, then the Army sent him to medical school where he became a physician. He completed his 20 years as an Army physician and retired as a LTC at the age of 38. Ya just never know ...... :iono: THE END humfrz |
