Asking a basic question here...

What does this product do and not do as compared to a dual catch can setup.

1. Ability to heat oil.
2. No can draining as it allows oil to circulate back in.

Etc

Same circulation loop I have been thinking of for 3 years. Finally someone did it.

-It filters down to 5 micron; which to my knowledge, is the smallest filtrating AOS on the market anywhere. I could be wrong but I don't know of another.

-Offers coolant heater option.

-Offers automatic drain back option.

I'd say those three would be the major options that separate it from most other AOS on market.

I think I have been working on this specific chassis application for about 3 years... that's the sad truth. But she has finally come to fruition :happyanim:.

Anyone have any concerns with the auto drain back and running e85?

Hmm ^ that (or even if oil is dilluted with normal petrol, and then draining it back) also concerns me a bit and makes me think that classic drain is safe bet. Would like to hear comments on possible (or imaginable) cons by those that know better.

I guess I didn't see it mentioned but it appears to be a dual can. Is this accurate Eric?

For those worrying about draining the unit back into the engine, please keep in mind this is only an option to make the unit more "hands off". It most certainly can function like a regular catch can. By purchasing the same Fumoto drain valve which our cars take for the oil pan, M16x1.5 IIRC, and threading that into the bottom of the unit, it can even be very easy to drain the can as well!

I'll have an oil analysis done soon but I've been draining it back on 91 without an issue for about 2 years now. I just switched to E85 recently though and am curious myself. I do not expect to see anything crazy but Blackstone will surely set me straight.

I've drained it back on various other cars I have had in the past and did analysis on. Nothing popped out to Blackstone that draining it back was causing harm to the engine or breaking the oil down exponentially quicker.

This is correct, it is a dual can, wrapped into a single unit.

Soooo received a Velox product yesterday and ordered this one (3 of them) today. Well done. You can't argue with RD and quality products.

Would this work with an F/I setup as-is or any additional steps to consider?

It has the correct supplied hardware for both setups. We have been using it on our shop car with the Full-Race turbo kit at over 300whp for 6 months now, zero issues, functions great.

We have it on another local car that has had power up to 480whp, no issues as well.
