my 2013 auto completely stock BRZ has done this from day one. During quick stops the RPM drop low and it feels like it could stall but never does. No issues with gradual stops.

So I got a different tune from steve with some changes made and the idle set at 750 I drove around and I couldn't get the car to stall so ive got no idea :iono: hopefully it doesn't come back

It started hapening to me when I first start the car the rpms drop and it stalls.
Reflashed to stock tune and now its fine, but i had the tune for months so It cant be the tune right? 🤔🤕 Any ideas?

give it a day or two and see if it comes back.

check you don't have any intake or exhaust leaks.

Check your ltft at idle and low rpm if its high this may cause problems.

if all ok and ltft ok.

then try bumping base idle from 700 to 750 rpm

or get the Transmission computer flashed with update

Is there anything we can say to the dealership to get the TCM flashed? AFAIK it's only for 2015++

I've seen a few posts here and elsewhere of earlier MY getting the flash done with success.

Print the TSB, tell them you are suffering from idle hunt issues (and nothing else), then hopefully they will do the reflash. If not, try begging or visit a different dealership.

I had this issue after installing my Vortech kit and flashing the ECU with ECUTek. Car had would fire but not turn over on warm starts and would stall under hard braking and idling frequently.

It took about 10 remote tuning revisions but finally got the issue fixed. Turned out that the main culprit was fuel injector scaling.

Thanks everyone for the help. Turns out my cat was clogged and had leaks in my exhaust piping. I removed the cat and fixed the leaks its all good now 👍 plus sounds nicer 😎

Mine does this too. I have changed the intake back to stock, swapped tunes, and changed the primary o2 sensor. I still need to check my PCV and possibly the brake/idle pump or whatever you call it since my brakes arent always as firm as normal (multiple bleeds, no air, new lines, etc). It also does it with both OEM ATF and Redline ATF

It happened starting around 70k miles and lasted until about 90-95k when I swapped the o2 sensor. Now it happens occasionally the last couplethousand miles starting at 120k (at 124k currently)

If mine doesnt stall but only bogs (usually due to me easing up on the brake last minute) it shifts very hard on takeoff so I do believe it is more a torque converter or TCU issue then tune related.

My 2015 Subaru BRZ auto started recently doing this as well. The car would stall on a stop light and I would need to turn the car off and turn it back on to get moving. Anyone have any resolution to the issue?

I wonder if it is bad gas as this has not happen before and the three times it has happened was on the same tank of gas. I am at 62k miles on the car, so no warranty :(

Why not return your car to stock and see if the issue goes away?

I do not recall anybody asking if they confirmed it was indeed an auto!
