Yes

Has anyone found the gear selection PID? useless but a nice touch in a custom interface.

Okay, I'll have to legitimately sit down and study how to do this. I feel so stupid that I'm not positive how to figure out how to do it. Maybe I'm just getting old?

It's not that hard, just setup the connection and configure the PID, a couple of inputs you're done.

Anyone have this dashboard layout on a Android Head Unit?
I canīt have it centered on my screen. The gauges are too big and display off the screen.

Anyway, for some reason the Vacuum gauge is showing something like -23 PSI at idle and at WOT it is rising up to maybe -11 PSI vacuum but never going into boost.

I am 100% sure the car is actually boosting, based on the performance when I hit the throttle. In fact I am guessing my HKS is putting out ~ 9.5 PSI at 7000 RPM (though I stay below 5500 RPM almost 100% of the time).

So, what's wrong with the way I have the gauge configured that it is always in vacuum? Any help is appreciated! Since the swing is approx 12 PSI perhaps if I knew the proper vacuum PSI at idle I can determine actual boost based on the difference from low to high.

Just thought I'd share some info as I was getting the same issue described by @wbradley where the gauge would never show as hitting boost.

In Torque when setting up the vehicle profile, if you enable the advanced settings it allows you to enter an offset for boost PSI. By default its 0 but you can put in both negative and positive values. To work out what offset to put in you simply need to go into Torque and find the barometer reading from the car.

My barometer reading was ~18.27 PSI. So I minus that from 14.7 and was left with -3.57. I entered that value as my boost offset and now Torque is displaying boost and vacuum accurately.

I follow the instructions on this to set up the PID word for word. It works but it only works basically when it feels like it. Any suggestions on what to do to make sure that it works all the time every time I'm using it?

Just got this installed on my Joying headunit with a ELM327 Mini. Does this have issues with OFT tunes? I only managed to get GPS, Coolant Temp, and Intake Air Temp working. Can this not read everything the OFT can? Engine RPM doesn't even work.

Hi Guys,

Having a issue where I can get the oil temp but it seems to drop off after 30 seconds or so and doesn't come back unless I restart the torque app. I triple checked the config for oil temp and all but I'm not sure why its dropping off. Everything else is reading perfectly.
Using a ELM327 Mini

have you managed to figure out the parameters into Torque pro add?

Nope. I never could get it to work. I picked up an AiM SOLO DL instead.

Torque Pro has a default Oil Tempurature PID that is accurate to the readout in my 2019 BRZ's dashboard. Does anyone know what's the code for this PID?

I tried the custom 2101 PID from the OP in this thread and it was way off.

Reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to customize the dial background for the default Oil Temp display and I need to know its PID (definitely not 2101).

The PID is OBD Standard: 5C

Hi Guys,

Has anyone had the issue where the oil temp reads and then resets to a negative -40 and only reads again if you reset app. I am using torque . I have tried 2 different readers . One did not work at all for oil temp only as everything else works and the second reads and then stops. Has anybody found a fix for this or should i just try another reader .

Awesome thread by the way .

Try disabling Faster Communication in Torque adapter settings and retry?

Hi Guys,

Managed to find a OBD reader that works perfectly .

I have had trouble using the ( Orange ) OBD Reader , which has the latest firmware . It would reset oil temps or not read at all even the fuel PID did not work .

I have a different reader VGate , its works perfectly with both the OIL and Fuel PIDS . This reader uses the older firmware 1.5 .

I hope this helps if anyone is having issues as to which OBD reader to use/try .

They both cost the same and are both bluetooth .

I have this disabled as well currently . Not sure if that made a difference as i tried it on other readers and they still had issues . The Vgate works just fine with it disabled .

I just installed the VGate OBD2 scanner and my oil temp PID is finally working! Thanks for trying out this unit and sharing the info!

This seems to work on my GT86. (I use it directly via CAN bus, not Torque, but it should work the same.)

Fuel remaining in tank

OBD2 Mode and PID: 0x2129
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Value: Should not exceed 100 (0x64) -> 50 liters
Scale factor: x1
Unit type: liter
Equation: A/2
OBD Header: 0x7C0

Bonburner 03-30-2021 12:36 AM

Is there any way to get the Oil Pressure readout from the ECU with a PID?

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...2&postcount=14

Edit: nevermind, seems like its just an on/off switch :/

TheBoss77 05-08-2022 08:54 AM

If anybody is looking for the automatic transmission temperature PID, this one worked on my '17 86.

OBD2 Mode and PID: 0105
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Value: 200
Scale factor: x1
Unit type: C
Equation: A-40
OBD Header: TCM

The implementation for brake position adapted from this thread post seems to work well on Torque: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...4&postcount=15

PID: 2141
Min: 0
Max: 100
Scale Factor: x1
Type: %
Eqn: MIN(100 : (1.1 * MAX((A-10)))
Header: 7B0

To inform folks that may be coming in new to this, this is the same as the original PID implementation stickied in Post #2 way back in 2013 of the same thread we are currently in: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...00&postcount=2

It comes down to what the interpretation of the PID is actually outputting. I think the consensus is that the PID value is % fuel level, but it really doesn't matter in the end because coincidentally when you divide by 2, it will also give the actual fuel tank capacity in liters.

This did not work for me. 2017 86 auto. It shows a temperature, but I don't think it is correct. What temps do you show?

Hey. I have the Elm 327 and Torque pro. Everything works great except for fuel pressure. I've tried to use all 3 options for fuel pressure and i get no data. I see that other people are able to monitor the HPFR without having to do anything. I've tried deleting and reinstalling torque pro but it hasn't helped. Is there any direction I can get towards what to try next or maybe the PID

Fuel pressure is not available as part of the generic OBD2 PIDs, but as the manufacturer-specific PIDs. Unfortunately I do not have the address either.

Does anyone know the vehicle speed pid and equation for a custom speed gauge? I want to add 10% to the speed to account for larger diamater tires.

It has been a while since I have used my OBD2 adapter with the torque app. I had a different phone and had no issues at all. I tried to use it yesterday and I am able to pair the bluetooth adapter but it does not stay connected. I read that even though it shows its not connected, it still might be but when I try to select the adapter in torque, it says there are no adapters available. anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

you might need to get a better ECU reader. That being said, when I used a ELM 327, I was able to read the fuel pressure no problem. Only the oil temp PID didn't work for me.

That sounds like an issue between the phone and the ecu reader. Try leaving the ecu reader unplugged and disconnected to everything else for a few minutes, then try plugging it back into the car while its off and connect to it.

Or buy a new one lol

This is absolutely identical to Engine Coolant Temperature
