The auto actually wants to reach 6th gear ASAP.. annoying when you want to drive it hard..but that's what sport mode is for.. holds gear longer.

Normal daily driving in the automatic: 33MPG (7.1L/100KM)

Best score:
When visiting a client on the otherside of the country (long boring cruise-control trip on the highway): 39MPG (6.1L/100KM)

I have an auto, drive ~50 miles a day commuting to/from work. 50% highway 50% street, but 100% traffic 100% of the time. Damn you I-880!!! I drive like a decent civilian.

I am getting an average of 30.8 mpg, and have not reset the average for 6 months now.

Geez. My average according to the trip computer is 24.5mpg, though I've been getting ~28mpg recently which is slowly dragging the average up. Cold weather kills my gas mileage.

i feel like an odd duck out. I get average 300kms a tank. thats around 14.5mpg for you guys. 91 octane (canada stuff so its not that great) it might have to do with my 95% city driving and my 99% "spirited" driving.

My average (according to the meter) is 8.4 L/100 km, equivalent to 28 mpg. Driving in Windsor (suburbia) and to work in Detroit (hwy).

I'm hanging around 24MPG with a Limited 6MT. I do not drive conservatively, so I'm happy it's that high.

Should finally cross 500 miles (800 km) on a tank this weekend. Feels like driving a Prius though.

:confused0068: That's amazing. 65 mph on the highway for the whole tank?

And I thought getting 400 miles out of one tank in mine was good....

Nope....rural 45 - 55 through the countryside.

Overall for ~8K miles, the dash shows 33.4 mpg. I have never checked it maually. Lots of AC time as I'm in Az. I would estimate 20% highway at ~80mph. Balance in town/suburbia with pretty low speed limits. Certainly some periods of spirited driving as well. My view is that if I am in traffic I might as well respect my car/enviro/my wallet so I shift early, out of 1/2/3 by 2500 which is key IMHO.

Knowing how I can drive it and get this mileage, because I do have fun with it, I can't imagine what it takes to only get low 20's.. I really like that it is such a practical car when you want/need it to be but offers fun as well. Will make it a great car to own when gas spikes again.

6MT with a Magnaflow exhaust but otherwise mechanically stock.

Same driving style = 25.8 over 5K miles in my '11 WRX.
