EJ257 is still available in the WRX, and the "manufacturer" is technically Subaru. Could be a loophole.

possibly i can't find the rule to refrence it so maybe.

i don't think it's an EJ25. there is a new formula D rule that restricts the engine to being a currently avalible engine from the current manufacture. thats why they had to kill the rockstar V8 tc. and thats why ken had to switch from the 3SGTE to the 2AZ-FE.

Your giving me faith again. Lets hope you are right.

I think that they wanted to hear other peoples prices so they can compete directly with them. Like a "lemme see the cards in your hand, lemme think, *plays perfect card*, wins game" type thing

If we get pricing for the BRZ, we'll certainly know the price of an FRS.

CSSM 01-09-2012 04:36 PM

Im digging the VR G12s, definitely a must for my FR-S

BlackRacer 01-09-2012 04:36 PM

Nice drift machine, the rims are hot

But I'm missing the curb weight for the FR-S :(
I really don't understand Scion's information politics...but at least there is some information - in EU we got not infos at all until now. But maybe it's because the car won't be sold until autumn 2012...

Come on.. how many times are they going to "Officially Launch" these 2 cars and not announce pricing!?

As always amazing coverage Hachi!

http://vegasproam.com/rules-and-regu...rulebook-2011/

Currently the 2012 rulebook hasnt been released, and the 2011 rulebook doesn't restrict engine swaps.

so whichever the reason why those cars count use those engines in their drift cars anymore..its not because of engine rules.

Longhorn248 01-09-2012 04:40 PM

So I read back through the thread. No release date or price?

We also don't know if the 2,762 Lbs. is "dry", "unladen", "curb". How does Toyota/Scion/Subaru typically advertise their weights....dry?

Unless I'm running a swirl pot with a fuel return setup, I don't really care about any advertised weight that isn't with a full tank of gas.

Syldrin 01-09-2012 04:41 PM

so i looked up the rule book on the interwebz and i can only find last years rules

Spaceywilly 01-09-2012 04:42 PM

This reminds me a lot of waiting for GT5 to come out. You keep waiting for the big announcement only to be jerked around some more, and when it finally comes out you get something that already feels outdated. I have a feeling spring 2012 will come and go with no 86's to be found.
