Red Tom's. OEM is just horrid, doesn't go well at all with the nice clean monogram headlights. OEM also gets away from the jdm look.
|
Smoked Valenti w/red inside!
and Jurrian @ModBargains.com has a GB going right now too http://www.modbargains.com/images/FR...s/ft86club.jpg |
This will be a mod projected this year for me.
My heart is set on the Valentis but BuddyClubs don't like bad either |

Red Tom's because they look like they belong on the car from factory (IMO); sleek design, subtle, and DOT approved!
Oh and they are a much closer match of the BRZ headlights boomerangs than any other without overdoing it. Coming in 2nd would be the stock OEM's, I love the design of the "GTR" like circles, but was not a huge fan of the clear lense+chrome insides; like many have mentioned. |
Well at least we got personal taste across the board. Including the one lonely voter for Winjet lol

Owning a set of smoked Valenti's does make me bias,... but I love the lines of the red light (especially at night when they're bright in a dark street) and they just look Smoooooo th to me :)
|
The Buddy Clubs seem to be a less popular choice than I thought, but I love mine. The Valenti lights came in a close second, but the running light look of the Buddy Clubs is what sold me on them.

I like the aggressive look they have, I think it looks sick. However, I'm still thinking Valentis. Also, Valenti's Revo relay looks way better than Buddyclubs. |
Clear TOMS' because they are a great OEM looking match to the BRZ.

Because an actual enthusiast will know not OEM and people who want to call you a ricer or profile a modified car will think it's OEM.
I know a lot of people pick mods "just to be different and stand out". Some people pick mods because they think they are subtle and beautiful. Each their own right? I don't like the stock lights but I rather spend $ to track my car so I live with them |

Picked Tom's since I somehow missed the OEM option.
I have mine wrapped and IMO, they're hard to beat. Haven't had any issues with the wrap or with condensation, so far so good. |

I don't mean to piss off all those that like the stock lights, but to me the stock ones look like cheap after market units. The TOMS' (to me) look more OEM than the OEM ones! Its bad enough the BRZ shares the same wheels, but after going to all that effort on the nose I think Subaru dropped the ball with the brake lights. Especially on a BRZ the TOMS' bring a more cohesive Subaru family resemblance to the car that was missing from the factory and help to raise the perceived quality of the car. Being body kit free, wingless and in polished show room condition most of the time no doubt helps too :) |

These look like perfection on a black car. Reason being that the Black Chrome when passed through the smoked housing actually looks more Bronze/Black Chrome than just Black Chrome. It's hard to capture in a photograph. The coloring looks OEM+. Also the shape of the plastic housing (with that dimple in the circular center area) looks OEM+ (not aftermarket) as modern tail lights generally have a more sculpted shape these days, then just flat housings. Finally drivers behind me tend to respect my signaling for lane changes A LOT more than before. They don't seem to speed up to keep me from merging. I can only credit the sequential turn signals for this. They seem to get people's attention in a positive way. I've put a lot of mods on my car (including other tail lights), and I can say that these are a $500 upgrade that looks every bit the part. High end and sexy. |

valenti tails FTW.. |
OEM always OEM for me and because I love the Circle...
Remember me my Skyline R32 GT-R also. |
oem or toms the rest all riced out like it was the year 2000

Can confirm. I used to get a lot of people who never let me in when trying to change lane, now, they give me lots of space to merge in. A few times, I've spotted people taking pics at stop lights. Just a couple of days ago, a biker stopped behind me and shouted at his buddy sitting behind to look over his shoulder. They both proceeded to point at the lights, spotted me looking behind and gave me a thumbs up. Anyhoo, to contribute to this thread, I really loved OEM tails. If the Revos never came out, I would've stuck with OEM. |

Even though the Tom's came out before this year's Subaru WRX and Outback were released, they definitely look like they could have been designed by Subaru, as the newest WRX and Outback also sport similar horseshoe-shaped tails. |
