5 speed gear pros:
-better power band?
-quicker acceleration
-easier in traffic (manual)
cons
-less mpg

what do you guys think?

Do you know anything about gearing for internal combustion engines?

After a few drives I'd think anyone can tell it kick you in the back from 2 to 3k but not much happens when you floor it after that until around 5k. I don't know why people don't think the power graphs don't show this.

You got's to learn some math, its still a 133 (ish) average over the whole range. Not gonna brag about it, but it gets the job done.

I beat this car every day and fail to see where every one gets their little silk panties in a twist over the "torque dip"? You would have to be one of those princesses with the pea-pod syndromes to really notice. Seems to be lot of these around n both the owner and non-owner camps.:burnrubber:

How do you not notice the surge of torque once you hit 4800ish RPM? 20 torques is a pretty big difference over just 500rpm. I am so very sorry that I can actually feel the feedback from my car and want that extra 20 torque...

If 20 torque was nothing and just something princesses get their silk panties in a twist about, why do people mod their cars? Why even have a sports car? Why race or do auto-x?

I pretty much agree.

If it weren't for the posted dyno graphs and all the talk ....... I figure most of the average drivers wouldn't know there was a "torque dip" .....

I know as you get older you start to lose your senses, but come on, you don't need a dyno to tell you there is something different above 4800rpm. It might not be super noticeable in 1st, but in any other gear it is very readily apparent you just got more power when you go between 4000 and 4800rpm...

Well, 3nl, you may have a point there ...... :)

When you get older, you know what the first thing to go is.

The second thing is your hearing.

The third thing is your eyesight.

Maybe the forth thing to go is ..... your butt dyno ....... :(

Why not go all out and get rid of the tranny entirely?

If Koeniggsegg can do it, why not Toyobaru?
