I like my OEM ones. Not too obtrusive or flamboyant. I may need to trim mine though if I go lower with my car.

Mine are ok with my 1 1/2" lower. They do make the scariest noise when going over speed bumps or on to a hoist but so far no damage.

Currently at -1.5", and it looks like I'm going to be going to about -3" (or as close as I can get to it) come spring time. Kind of worried about them, although Since I have side skirts and rear spats to put on as well, the mud flaps may just get ditched entirely. Maybe I'll get the RA ones and cut them down a bit so they don't stick out.

Ya, they would not work well at all at that height! Bit redundant with spats anyway I would think.

Yes and no with the spats. I suppose it all depends on how far out they stick. However, looking at the lip kit I have, I'm not even entirely sure I want to put it on anymore. And my final solution for the ride height at -3" might end up being a pipe dream. The roads in Guelph are an absolute mess, and it doesn't help I cheaped out on my coils... I had a date yesterday and I took her to Toronto to do some touristy stuff since she'd never been and on the drive there and back she kept mentioning how hard the bumpy ride was on "the girls" haha.

Anyways, enough OT for me now. OP, hope you find a workable solution

I did the amazon mud flaps and love them, very easy to install.

I don't like how the Rally Armor ones look like they were just stapled on. They just look out of place to me. I can certainly see how they offer better protection, as they stick out quite a bit on the sides, unfortunately that's the very reason I don't like the look.

I went with OEM. I like how they are form fitting and they just look like they belong on the car. I even think it's a minor cosmetic enhancement.

extrashaky 02-18-2015 10:34 PM

You know why I really don't like the RA flaps? Because they look damaged. It looks like you guys ripped the chrome naked girls off of them.

That does look very tidy.

You guys do know they're adjustable to sink into the body.. Winter is in full force here so with lots of non-county maintained roads and washington shit weather, I move them out. During the summer I dial them back significantly, looks great :)

Did not know that.

Koa 02-19-2015 11:45 AM

I'll take a pic when summer rolls around. Totally changes the look of the car. Refer to my rear-end picture here. Notice that they're completely out and block the wheel view. In summer you can dial it to what you like, really dynamic with the washer and slot setup on the RAs.

Why? It's mostly stock. If you've seen a red BRZ, you've basically seen my car.

Here it is being crowded in a parking lot again:

What, nothing? No comments on how stock my car looks?

Would look even more tidy with a color matched "mud flap girl"

Surely there's one that fits our cars.

Jertronic 02-19-2015 04:47 PM

I have the toyota OEM purchased on amazon. they arrived in a toyota shipping box. I like the the guards, and yes i'm one of whom messed up on installing the fronts. On one side it rubbed a little paint of, literally a paint chip size. The rears are easier to install and seem much more sturdy. Doing the fronts you are at the mercy of the plastic push clips and whether or not you get an effective push pin connection.

Definitely like the look and functionality as my fr-s takes a year round beating in 4 seasons of drastic weather as a daily driver.

I think they look great on the red, good on the white, fine on the black and suck the big one on the rest of the colours!

Umm, nah. Maybe some matching red flames would help.

With some rad gold flake and pinstriping. That'd be mean.

No, I've never been one for flames. Or pinstriping, or even decals at all, really. I've never even done Plasti-dip, but that's going to change as soon as the weather warms up a bit (going to make my stock wheels graphite metallic, I think).

Make sure you post up some pics when you do, please!
I have gone in circles so many times on what to do about rims that I become dizzy when I even think of the subject now. I like the style of the stock but am not over joyed by the two tone so something like you are doing may be my answer. (Great option 128 to add to my spin)

tahdizzle 02-20-2015 12:41 PM

RA mudflaps look like you paid waaaaaayyy too much for something you could have fab'd with stuff bought from Lowes or Home Depot.

Finish isn't there. Its literally a piece of plastic with RallyArmor stamped on it. Then you screw them on your car.

You guys should try using playing cards attached to your calipers so when the car is moving you can get some "Boxer Rumble".

T.. Have you seen this thread?! I'm doing this in the summer. Perhaps all brushed steel with a clear coat. They look sooooo much better 1 colour.

Here's a sexy lava :)

No I had not see that one (I must be slipping). I don't want to go a light colour or pure black so the graphite may be along the lines of what I am after. I will browse.
(You just did this to drive me around the bend didn't you!)
