Hi mate, no, dealer delivery fees do not include what are commonly referred to as government statutory charges, ie, rego, ctp green slip, stamp duty, etc.

It might be what you have asked for with every new car deal my friend but i can assure you, having been in the industry for over 13 years that manufacturers rarely (if ever) have new cars freighted to dealerships with a full tank of fuel in any car. The average is between 5-15 litres if you're lucky. I have seen some new cars come to a dealership (not ours) with no fuel in them at all and they run out as the driver's are trying to get them off the trucks.

Sorry, i'm not trying to be patronizing but please don't take it for granted my friend, if a dealer gives it to someone as part of a deal or a deal sweetener then it is a freebie because the dealer doesn't get free fuel, they have to pay for it just like you and i do.

Another point is that if they do increase the RRP (Recommended Retail Price set by the manufacturer inclusive of GST, sometimes referred to by clients as the list price* and dealers as the base price), allow me to share with you that the clause on most if not all NSW contracts of purchase of a motor vehicle that says something along the lines of "Price Ruling On Delivery Applies" means that even if you purchased the vehicle before the RRP increase the RRP increase WILL APPLY ON DELIVERY in other words if the price goes up before you pay for the car in full you may be asked to pay the price it is on the day - not what you signed up for in the beginning. If, however, you decide to cancel after you have been informed by the dealer that this has taken place, you may do so within three (3) days by giving written notice to the dealer. That's how it works in NSW anyway, not sure about the other states & territories.

As far as i know this particular clause was introduced to protect both the dealer and the customer from manufacturer price rises. Remember that when the RRP increases, so does the stamp duty and the GST as GST is included in RRP.

*List price commonly has 2 different meanings - to a customer it's the RRP, to a dealer it's the RRP excluding GST which is commonly used as a starting point when preparing a fleet quote or invoice.

Nothing better than getting into your new car with a full tank to start driving it everywhere, rather than waste time waiting at a busy servo 1km down the road.

I agree, the dealer I got my Cilo 197 from gave it a full tank and even asked what fuel brand i preferred. a 'prestige' dealer in sydney sold me a Jetta on fuel light.. also cigarette lighter was not working and now the airbag lights are on.. never buy a VW

It was Galleria Toyota in Morley. Kalamunda Toyota was the next cheapest at 39274 with the same deal, but Morley is much closer to me so I negotiated to get that deal.

The most expensive I had was 39800 with 6months rego and no fuel deal, so to put it in perspective it would have been close to 40100. Just need to go in there and know what you want before doing any deals :)

Tbh guys, I think I've made an error - Im not sure how much stamp duty is supposed to be, but it looks like they've calculated it just on the dealer delivery fees, rego and all that jazz, and not on the total price. I'm reasonably new to this country so don't really know how stamp duty works, but my understand is that'd be slight over a grand for a car of this price?

I believe it's 2.5% of the RRP in Victoria mate. So it should be around $750.

If that's all the costs, then whatever the stamp duty is (minus 45 bucks) on top of 32573. So around about 33298, which is still quite good I think. They've listed the paint as 'metallic', so hopefully that's included too.

You will be waiting a while then, seeing how 1) they are only bringing in 200 BRZs and 2) they have been pre-ordered already. Its a numbered limited edition (same spec as the GTS though). The Subaru dealer I spoke to said "mid 40s" and required a hefty deposit, and ~2 years before they consider bringing any more in. I'd be surprised if he wasn't too far off on his price guesstimate just because they have already gotten ~200 people to sign up at that price.

Was just really friendly with the guy, had a good chat and then when we got to talking money I told him 41k is my max price :thumbup:

It's not that much of a saving really, but a few extra hundred towards tinting and a restyle of plates is always good :D
