Seriously? If he hand paints that then there are 2 reasons to make that a $300 key ring. Silver & hand paint job. I imagine if he did a bunch there is a better way to do that. Silk screen?

Once you get some numbers and whatnot, check out Kickstarter. Make a project page for it and we can get pledges on here with a goal amount that is satisfactory to you. It's a great place for these types of things and makes it easier for you to keep track how many people have pledged and how much!

I agree kickstarter.com is a great place for these items

JB1 06-07-2012 06:55 PM

ZetaVI 06-07-2012 08:18 PM

Lols, itsa product called "Silver Blackener" its a chemical in liquid form that smells similar to rotton eggs. i drip it in the recessed section then re-polish the top giving definition and awesomeness :D

Yeah, I've used that stuff before (in High School)... & totally agree on rotten eggs smell.

heheh i havnt forgotten, just been busy :(

Ok, so it turns out companies dont bother with someone only wanting to produce 250 pieces... They also dont bother with a "no sorry, we wont bother with such a small order" email. They just ignore :\

I have found a local company (sydney) that cast in white brass, and will be casting this week for me, and then moulding for replica's.

I have taken on board all advise and decided it would be easier to have a mirrored 86 emblem (front and back)

I have also brought the size down to 3cm in diameter (1.2in) as i have had mine on my keyring and it feels a little to large for my liking, and also keeps the weight & cost down.

the price of these things im not sure of yet as i havnt been invoiced for work being done yet, but it will be within what most of you had thought. around the $40-$50 mark. inc. postage. But not set in stone yet.

Cheers

Oilers99 06-27-2012 01:24 AM

I'm in.

Marrk 06-27-2012 02:06 AM

Very nicely done.

My only problem is that metal key rings like that scratch cars. Take that metal emblem and attach it to a top grain leather fob (such things were commonplace in the '60s-'70s) and you'll have my attention

kidgogeta 06-27-2012 03:48 AM

in on one

FRS_Ken 06-27-2012 09:10 AM

Yes, 86 both sides
how about pewter?

Chewie4299 06-27-2012 09:28 AM

I'm so in. I actually would most like the 86 on one side and the Toyota T on the other. Though, as no one else has said that I think I'm alone.

I want one, I'd even be happy to stump up for a sterling silver one.

chipz91 07-02-2012 04:05 AM

I would definitely buy one. How much?? :)

Got to love keyless entry and push start button. :)

Lotus5 07-02-2012 06:27 AM

Just picked up an FT86 and would be happy to stump up for a couple of sterling silver keyrings. From Sydney as well.

GTS86X 07-02-2012 11:42 PM

Put me down for 3 also in syd :)

Alright, so i finished my new master today :) i like it! i have to have a play around with techniques to get this metal to change colour in the recessed sections.

here are a couple of pics next to the original (which is getting lots of love next to my keys, not as shiny anymore, more a matte white)

Soon it will be time to sell these things but not yet :)

I will be interested to see how the other guys keyring turns out, if they are better than mine i may get one too :D

Stay tuned ^_^

I think it looks good the way it is even without the different colour/shade in the recessed sections

The different shading in the recessed area will look good IF AND ONLY IF the colour doesn't come off. Not sure if you're thinking of using paint as a solution but if so, it'll look crap if starts chipping off.

calis5nest 07-04-2012 07:50 PM

i like it take that 985 out and ill buy one let me know when you begging selling them

Default 07-05-2012 12:03 AM

Love the one on the Left, very sexy especially with the texture and colour of the black parts. It'll be a sexy keychain to have especially when it's been worn in a bit like those ones.

Nomad_lennon 07-05-2012 02:17 AM

Finally got the keychain for "mass-production"

Interested in buying a keychain just like the one in the pic! eBay maybe?
