Resurrecting this old topic because I just found the image of this spoiler through Google Images and I WANT! There never really was a positive ID and link posted, so let's give it another go. Can anyone identify the solution for us to buy this?

I really feel like it is OEM Nissan with the center support detached. I've never seen this on any mainstream aftermarket website, so it's probably OEM. Can't be cheap from Nissan though...

I want as well, I would probably chop off at least a toe for that wing.

Anyone ever get the best reference for getting this bad boy fit on the frs? I really want this wing.

Which one of them is a direct fit? I love the look of this spoiler and I want it, but I'm not really willing to risk $400 just to test it out so anybody know if its a direct placement or not?

Alright to revive and put the already known to rest... :sigh:

They should make this spoiler utilizing the factory bolt hole locations.
This spoiler is very expensive to make in terms of spoilers. People already complaining about the Nur spec or spoiler being 1k+... this spoiler from Nissan is already higher without buying the led brake light.

The factory BRZ limited and GT86 spoiler bolt holes wouldn't be usable anyways as you would still have the 5 holes across the back for the push pins. If you wanted it to utilize the outside bolt holes you'd also have to make the GT-R spoiler wider. Regarding the 5 other holes, you can see them in Alan's pictures of his car as he just stuck squares or Red vinyl over them...

Carbon Fiber spoiler anyone?
Careful buying a CF GT-R spoiler. Anything below $1000 will be either junk or a one piece spoiler without the brake light. Keep in mind the spoiler will not fit on the 86's trunk without modifications so you would need to be very good a CF work and re-wrap the spoiler after extending the bottom of it if you wanted it unpainted...

The GT-R spoiler is actually 2 halves...
This spoiler is 8 parts from the factory all the plastic being made of ABS or optional Dry Carbon on a few versions (Track Pack and maybe Black Edition.)
-top boomerang half
-left support
-center support pillar
-right support
-led brake light
-brake light cover
-left bolt hole cover
-right bolt hole cover

The center pillar is removable. The bottom part of the pillar on the GT-R uses an alignment pin and 2-sided tape. You can easily remove the push pin and just use 2-sided tape for installing it on the 86. The top part of the center pillar is held on with 2 screws. You must remove the 3rd brake light cover to remove the center part. There is a 1"X1.75" hole in the bottom side of the spoiler when it is removed though... On the perfect day on polished paint you will see it in the trunk lid's reflection. Anyone with stock orange peel need not worry. :lol:

The side supports are held on with 3 nuts on studs. Without the center support there is a noticeable tension on the seam where the parts meet and the spoiler "droops" a bit.

There are 2 kinds of GT-R spoilers...

Correct and incorrect in you post. There are 2 kinds available from the factory. The first style was produced mostly on preproduction vehicles from 2005-2007. The style we are talking about is the production version and produced from 2007-2014. Out of the 2nd style spoiler there is also a difference. 2009-2014 had an LED light.

Nope all GT-R have had a flat decklid. Alan has modified his or had it done himself. The molding work is good but, noticeable in a couple of the first pictures. (The 2nd one down)

He is apparently still working on the spoiler. The last update I can find is in the form of a video in which he has motorized the top half of the spoiler to raise us like some supercars have... looks kinda weird but, provided me with the information to confirm it was made from an OEM spoiler as well as a better look at the molded-in bottom parts.

Here are a couple pics of my GT-R spoiler sitting on my decklid. It will be rather annoying to make this spoiler work since this car ATM is my DD might halve to wait a bit until summer so my other ride can become my DD.

Loving it! I like these custom one-off jobs. So unique. Not crazy about that spoiler with the CF half rising, but to each their own. Sounds like getting a new trunk would make things easier concerning the extra holes left by the Limited's spoiler.

Thanks for the write-up! Very, very informative.

Here is where I am at, with making my spoiler fit.

Basic Rundown is.
1. Made a FG mold of the trunk.
2. Sat spoiler on car, marked and drilled holes.
3. Only one or the 3 studs (on each side) is long enough to go through the sheet metal due to the shape. The 2 outter-most on each side got nice long jamming nuts added to the studs. which were cut to size I will then use a 10mm bolt for them.
4. Pop FG mold off trunk. Sit back in place and align spoiler on it.
5. Make a couple alignment marks for repositioning.
6. Grind top off fiberglass and bottom so spoiler with 24 grit roloc discs.
7. Used 2pt SEM's Panel Bond Adhesive to bind the spoiler to the fiberglass.
8. Bolt the spoiler onto the decklid to clamp the 2 halves together. Wait 24hours.
9. Unbolt spoiler. And using tin snips I trimmed the fiberglass mold of the trunk down to size.
10. Using the left over hardened fiberglass I made some wedges to use as the sides of my mold. I then glassed them into place with fresh FG mat.
11. Let cure and then grind with 24grit disc to rough the surface and spoiler sides up. Applied 3M's 2pt ABS Repair structural plastic to the outside embedding the FG sides roughly shaping it to the final contour.
12. sand a repeat step 11.
13. sand.
14. CURRENTLY AT THIS STEP

I will do a bit more sanding then hit is with a 2pt epoxy finishing cream, sand and a very light coat of bodyfiller (to fill any pinholes.) After wards prime, sand, prime, sand and finally paint. (Some where in there I need to finish welding up the holes leftover from the Limited spoiler...)

Total time so far is around 9 hours. Not including waiting for fiberglass and epoxies to dry. This also doesn't include the 2 hours trying to get a nut out after dropping it inside the decklid... :thumbdown:

Fiberglass cloth followed by a layer of mat and sealed with cloth. The cloth on the bottom gives it a very smooth finish which will be very nice on the bottom side of our spoiler.

I've been waiting almost a year for this, the perfect price, and perfect timing.. At 1am this morning, a post feel into the screen of my iPad, and a hour later and 250$ a 2010 GTR spoiler was in my trunk, on the way home.. Now I need to get it molded.. @Kiske, wanna make another set of molds :)


In perfect condition, just missing three small screws for a cover in the underside.. Will order from Nissan tomorrow

When it is fully done I due a photo op. Assuming I can move the spoiler forward (all the bottom sides of my mounts are solid piece of 3m moulding attachment tape for added support. I can't pull it off, the decklid will bend first. :( I hope to leave it in the sun all day to make the take let loose a bit easier. Just needs to come forward 1/8: or so so all my posts will be in proper alignment.

Thanks, but, I will pass. I have worked from 4pm to 2am for the past 7 days on mine (not including a 45 hour work week.) I will help you out a bit. The center pillar will also need redone. I cut mind in half and filled it with abs plastic then re-drilled through the center, I ran my wiring through this. It was near impossible to feed the wiring through the side mounts after molding it in. If you don't want to run the 3rd brake light you can get a carbon fiber top half without it. But be warned the existing 3rd brake light will be perfectly blocked when the spoiler is on. I found it a requirement to run the center part. Mine is still removable but, when removed the spoiler wobbles and stresses when driving and extremely when moving the decklid. LMK if you need anymore pictures of the process I used.

I will be sending you a PM and if I run into any issues let you know.. Most likely I'll get a shop to do it. My fiberglass skills are subpar at best

For all of you who were wondering where the $300 E-Bay wing went, here it is.

I'm going to have to put the center support in, it flexes quite a bit with out it. On the GTR it will create about 1 lb of down force for every 1 mph. Not a lot, 100 lbs at 100 mph. The local Nisson dealer just down the road just happens to have a GTR on the floor so I'm going to take my digital level down and measure the angle, then tweak mine so my angle is greater, to give me more down force.
It's just on temp, with two bolts. It needs to taken apart and spacers made to increase the angle, painted, and the holes from the old spoiler plugged, all stuff for my paint guy.

Were you able to extend the wiring and run it down the side of the spoiler or did you just decided to exclude the brake light? You may want to try and make it functional. It is soooooo F'ing bright! I love it and easily lightup everything behind me!

Yeah whole thing shakes like mad when you open/close it. I really wish I made the front edge a bit lower. I went level with the decklid.

If your going to run the center support then have your body guy also tack in a brace on the inside of the decklid. Otherwise the leading edge (just above the toyo/scion/subaru emblem) will CRACK the paint. I had it happen twice when some kid leaned on the spoiler and another time after a track session. I love telling my buddies the wing on my little slow scoobaru has that much power at speed to crack it! :rolleyes:

Just have them tack a small piece of plate 3inches long right where the middle spoiler hole is and you will be good.

I'm curious to inquire with my local Nissan dlr how much this wing would cost. Does anyone have a part number I could take to them?

$1700 new I was quoted, look on E-bay.
