At 3K$ in wheels, I'll pass for now. Not that I don't want them, but I couldn't afford them :D

I’m taking a holistic approach to the project and think 17’s are the way to go for me.

- The twins are pretty small to begin with so to me 17’s visually look big enough

- I want to fit the best rubber I can afford, which will be cheaper over the life of the car than larger diameters

- I do want lighter rims, but am worried about protecting them from damage on suspect b roads so the extra rubber / thicker walls will help

- As a daily driver I want the ride to be good and tyres are your secondary shock absorbers after all

Taking all the above and throwing it all together I want to end up with something nice looking, comfortable riding, cost effective (in the long run), handle improving (better grip than stock / less rotational mass) and be able to drive without worrying about hitting the occasional pot hole / choppy road.

Looks great, affordable, decent quality, and light (just over 7kg). But you'll have to put up with the whole stigma toward that brand.

If cost isn't an issue, then get the real deal TC105N....even lighter.

I personally prefer 17in because I cannot afford 18in tires......:(:(:(:(

Note that even Toyota fits 18 x 7.5 forged rims to its updated TRD kit for the UK.

This chassis doesn't need more than 225 wide tires and 7.5 wide rim is enough.

It does if you have greater than stock power
