What did you do to cover the holes from the license plate? I want to get a relocated plate but I am concerned about the holes showing.

When you buy the car new you are supposed to request the dealer to not drill holes in your bumper..only thing you can do is take it to a body shop make them fill it up, sand it , prime it and paint the bumper over.

If you look very closely in his below picture i believe he had the same bracket as mine. Where the bracket was drilled into the grill and then they screw the top screws into the the bracket. The screws they use are too long and they rub up against the white part of the bumper. I have holes in the solid black part of by grille and paint that is lifting up in the same place he does on his white part of the bumper above the grille. I know this is extremely hard to explain but please try to bear with me :)

i still have those two stupid holes in my front bumper LOL :(

i tried covering it up with some contact paper that's supposed to be SWP/Whiteout, but it's a shade off from mine so it ended up looking like two boobie pasties on my front bumper. so i just took it off and left the holes as is.

the best option (besides buying a new bumper) is like @nyc_Zn6 said and have a body shop clean it up by filling it in and repaint.

been awhile since i updated my build thread... some pics added for some of the changes

my front lip literally got smashed to pieces right after nisei showoff a few months ago :( apparently whatever that shit was on the road also took out like 3-4 other cars' front lips/bumpers too as they were pulled over to the side already.

so ordered a new JDP front lip which took about a month. not bad considering it had to be made-to-order.

then my set of regas FINALLY showed up after a few months of waiting. got these cleaned up and prepped then sent off to get paint-matched in whiteout. while waiting for the wheels to be finished, picked up a set of hankook v12's to mount, along with new RPF1 valve stems.

lastly, lowered the car about another 1/4" all around.

next up, going to custom mount a Varis cf intake duct to my front bumper :party0030:

Dope ass car. Are you going to put FI into it?

Thanks man! Not sure yet. I actually enjoy the stock power as crazy as that sounds lol. Eventually will probably look into a greddy turbo kit sometime down the line though :)

my homie hooked me up with a Varis cf intake duct from his old car, so i decided to reuse it on mine :) scary at first making that first cut in the bumper but once i made did and realized there was no turning back, it wasn't so bad at all. i think it looks pretty cool and different from the other intake ducts/holes i've seen so far. plus it actually goes up directly to the stock intake box area too (sorry forgot to take pics during the install).

thanks! it does take away a bit, but not too bad... but what does make it bad is the combination of both the wing AND the stupid stock 3rd brake light. im going to get a high mount brake light so i can finally see whos behind me without some stupid ufo blocking me lol

did the intec require any splicing or was it a straight plug-n-play?

thanks! yeah but that lip got smashed and half of it is somewhere probably on the side of a street in LA. i saved the other half and it's in my garage. i couldnt get myself to throw it away cuz it cost so damn much lol. the red, i just pinstriped it myself.

nope straight plug and play. I followed the instructional video from FR86speedfactory and it didn't take me long at all. Hardest part was getting the rear dash back into place lol

Really diggin the inspire vinyl, may I ask where you got it from?

Hyper4mance2k 04-09-2016 03:39 PM

@8R6 No immediacy, but would you be able to measure the distance from the rear of your wing mount to the edge of the bumper. I am considering getting that wing, but I wouldn't want to mount it any further forward than you have yours. I ask because I plan on keeping my Limited wing.

thanks man! not sure how HIN is these days, i havent been to one since the early 00's lol. but as far as Wekfest goes, and i guess generally big car shows overall, i see it two ways:

1. if you're there to really "compete" and win awards, then it's catered to bolt-on widebody flares, dumped on bags, cambered wheels. i will say though, that it's not just about the exterior though - you gotta have the whole package with engine and interior too. basically everything that is currently trending on whatever part of the car. so in that sense, its not really "easy" for some kid to just slap on fenders and dumped on wheels and then claim to have a show winning car. that said, your build is fucking immaculate!! hahah. if you do want to win an award, i think you have a strong chance for sure!

2. all types of cars are gathered here and displayed though. i go with my friends to just show our cars cuz we're proud of it (lol) and just to share what i built with my taste thats all. im too old now to "want" to win awards and all that. its more than good enough for me to just even have my car accepted for entry, as there are some crazy builds competing. i have fun just looking at what people build these days and people watching lol

zeal86 06-03-2016 04:23 PM

I got ya... I don't really care if I win or not... I go to car shows to show off my ride, meet and greet others in the community, learn some new things, and spark some new ideas for my own ride.

Now that I'm subscribed to your thread, I'll be keeping tabs on your progress... looking forward to updates.
