I would love to know how you know this. It's not that I would be surprised in some sense - models are typically refreshed at the halfway point, around three years. But with Tada's announcement, I have trouble believing they would wait a whole other year to actually implement the refresh.

Then again, they did do a ridiculously long hype cycle for the car introduction. If this refresh doesn't come until 16 MY, with slow leaks leading up to it, that will be seriously annoying.

I think a lot of the information we are getting are from multiple threads. There is no one thread that will cover it all, but from the ones I've read, seems like a face lift, and minor power increase. Considering that Tada Tetsuya won't go FI on these cars, we are kind of stuck. Unless he decides to change up motors, we seem to be pretty limited as to the power increase we will see with the current motor

i have a couple of friends that work directly with Toyota and Scion and all their mechanical data for the vehicles. Both JDM and USDM. MY15 FRS will be mechanically the same in the U.S. I can't say anything for the JDM model.

Guess: More add-ons (arm rest heated seats navigation blah blah blah), more expensive, heavier

Wish: Non touch-screen head unit + bug fixes (crickets, DI failure) + performance upgrades (suspension, tranny, motor tweaks, lighter etc.) only a minor price bump

Would consider trading in for my wish even if it's only partially met, wouldn't even touch my guess. Happy I got a '13.

Interesting. An early 2015 release of a MY2016 would also match up with the new ND Miata release, which would make sense if they want to match up the hype cycles.

Agreed. People are hoping for too much. Just buy the damn car already and stop waiting. People waited forever and bought the FRS right when it came out. Then the 10 series came out and people thought THEY were more special than those who bought the standard FRS. Now the Monogram came out that is basically a combo of the original FRS and the 10 series. Guess what? We all have the same power and same handling capabilities. Only change has been how you start the car, LED's, climate control and leather……nothing really for performance.

Just enjoy what we have. You keep holding out for the "better" model you will never buy the car because it will always get better.

This is why I finally ordered a Monogram...

Closest spec to the true GT86 and who knows if this trim level will be offered again.

I agree with that. I hope they don't muck it up with a massive grill or something :)

Its possible they will change the look and make it look worse. Then everone who puchased already will be sitting pretty with nicer vehicles...

Yeah some ugly ass lexus style chrome grill.....I am worried about this as well. I cant really imagine it looking much better. Hell I think almost all the body kits make it look worse.

Agreed. Just add a TRD spoiler or Stillen and be done.

Spending money for "climate control" in a phone booth...

There will be plenty of warning on the look, so if someone doesn't like the new look, they will have time to buy the old one.

Second, with a car like this, I wouldn't be surprised to see fascia swapping between those who like the new and those who like the old.
