10am. Forgot to ask when I was on the phone with him (nice guy btw), but what is the shop address?
|

Can the six of you post up pics of your tint job once it's done? I'd love to see how they turned out :thanks:
|
Damn. Just missed it. Might call anyway...
|
@JonnyRocket, if you can do a Wednesday 3/26 then we could get you up as a backup in case someone else can't make it.

How much for Brie's WRX Darren? 20%?

Which film does he use? I tried to look up "carbon" but couldn't find any info on it. I assume its one of these 7 types from Johnson.
|
Johnson Renegade. Will not interfere with GPS or radio.

What percent are you guys getting? I can't make up my mind on what I want to go with... 35 and legal, or 20 and chance it? I know that depending on the car and interior tint will look darker or lighter. Thoughts or opinions from those that are already tinted?
|
@DarrenDriven I just scheduled for 5:30ish

I was considering going with 20 for the rear window and 35 for the sides. If he'll do it, that is.

I got 35% on SWP and it honestly looks plentyyyy dark. I was really considering going 20% too. Happy with my decision.
|
I'm thinking 35 sides, 20 rear. Looking at JWF's website, the heat blockage for both is pretty damn close. And I know my wife would be uncomfortable with 20 all around. But the car seat will be sitting under the rear window so it's getting 20.

Tinting is underway! I decided to go 20% all around. I'd rather have it a little to dark than a little to light. Thanks Darren for setting this up for us.

Photos!

I'm just going with legal, especially in the rear window since I have the auto-dimming mirror. I notice that the darker the rear window with the autodimming mirror makes it really tough to see at night.
|
Quick question for anyone really... On the inside of your windows, do you have a rubber strip along the bottom where the glass meets the door? I just got home and noticed there is a gap there but I honestly can't remember if there ever one there in the first place. Pics to follow...
|
Lets see some of those tints that got done today!

Here's mine just completed with 35%.
Thanks to Darren for setting this up. It turned out great, and I feel better knowing my interior is safer from the sun's damaging rays :) |
There is, but he bent it inward to tint the glass. Once you roll the window down and back up in a few days it'll. Pop up again.

Did anyone else have pics they can post-up of their tint job?
I'm strongly considering getting my car tinted at Fred's shop after looking into the Johnson Renegade film, and I'd love to see how more of your guys' tint jobs turned out. Overall pics of the tint would be nice and specifically the area around the dot matrices. Seems like most people have posted positive comments about their experience, so pics would be helpful  |
Supposed to be nice tomorrow. I'll try to get some pics.
|
Snapped these with my potato today. Next time I wash her, I'll break out the dslr.
|
Looks good - thanks for taking the time to do that!
|
I'm interested in this deal and am available before 3pm on weekdays. I work swingshift, so I head to work at 3pm and can't move that much so I'd need to be done by then.
I want to stay legal on my tint also, don't want to risk any hassle from the man. Plus I work swing shift and drive home in the dark. |
