How much increased snatch should one expect with this kit?

That should always be a major consideration with any modification.

i opted for wrapping the header and leaving the downpipe bare (it's pretty).

Imagine a 747 taking off about 12 inches away from your face. Then double that.

Seriously though he was behind me driving and I could still hear it over my exhaust. It's badass.

Wow, going to look up 35 prices haha. I love that noise.

the pics i have are all of the old piping setup, which has since been revised. the last pipe is actually away getting powdercoated right now (i waited forever to send it back to them). once i get it back i'll snap some shots. i'm going to have the bumper off as well so i'll get some shots of the intercooler and all that while i'm at it.

the build pics are in the announcement thread, which was made a while back.

thanks @Sportsguy83, it really just comes down to how thick is the casting at that point. I just did a test on a spare cast elbow and I don't think its enough, so I will probably weld in a NPT bung.

I agree. I remember the pics from the RevWorks development thread, but lets get some nice detailed pics of your kit @jamesm.

I should have the last pipe back today (with the new layout). I'll take some pics and post them up when i get it back together, hopefully this evening.

lbroskee 02-10-2014 03:51 PM

You need to drill and tap it and then use some teflon tape/paste to make sure it is sealed. The question is whether or not the material is thick enough to get enough threads to get a good seal.

you have to pull the compressor housing off, drill and tap for the npt fitting (tapered thread). i'd talk to andres.

If you drill/tap the end of the housing I think you could take the coupler off and shove a paper towel in there and then use some grease on the bit/tap to minimize metal shavings.

mrk1 02-10-2014 04:46 PM

The housings come right off, why not remove it.

Depending on the pipe routing of your kit it might not be that easy. I know removing the intake off the GT2871R in my Full Blown kit was a pain in the ass without pulling the bumper. I was not intimidated by those 6 bolts, haha.

yeah I can see what you mean on that kit.

jamesm 02-10-2014 05:49 PM

i was more intimidated by the idea of getting everything clocked and lined back up just right... and also that nice pretty billet wheel getting all mangled by my uncoordinated ass trying to jam it all back together.

Ironsquid 02-10-2014 05:51 PM

james its just metal

Thats awesome, I guess I could sell my radio to make up some of that cost. Wouldn't have to listen to anything else.

Ironsquid 02-10-2014 09:59 PM

the dyno video should be fun, no wind buffeting to drown out the sweet noise

mrk1 02-10-2014 10:14 PM

Just put the camera in the engine bay
