I think there's a number in one of the threads somewhere for Scion HQ. Some people have had better luck with that number than asking their dealer.

I think it's all part of the marketing strategy to keep us all hooked.

£25500 and top of the range £26500 although trade in price of my wrxd was not exciting for me

Does this price feel expensive to you? Doing the currency exchange rate of $1.6259 to the GBP that figures out to $41,460 (25,500 GBP), which would put it out of the market for most of us.

Do any other BRZ people feel cheated out of the AWESOME customer service that the FRS folks are getting? SoA better do something awesome...like leave a bag of BRZ gummy bears in our cars or something...LOL. Seriously the suspense is killing me.

I don't really care, it's not going to make the car get here any faster. I don't need to be pampered like a baby through the whole process, as long as they get the car here safe and sell it to me I'll be happy.

No can't complain about the price

New Impreza WRX STi £34000 on the road
In 2009 I paid £23000 for a wrx diesel
In 2000 (yes 12years ago !!!) my classic turbo 2000 was a whopping £22700 and a P1 ( uk version of a type R ) was £32000

New WRX STi is $34,000. Interesting price difference.

Never seen a new car model with such a detailed play by play on progress.

Nope. :P My dealer has flooded me with information from before I ordered up until now. Every step of the way he's sent me e-mails telling me when it had a VIN, when it was getting on a boat, etc. I feel really lucky though considering what I've heard from others.

I think SOA has dropped the ball on the customer service so far with the BRZ. The lack of information on price, accessories and arrival dates has been frustrating for us future BRZ owners.

I can't blame my dealer at all... they have given me as much info as they have been able to share.

I'm not about to cancel my order, but I'm certainly not impressed with Subaru right now. Not sure I would special order another car from them in the future.

ahausheer 04-27-2012 07:55 PM

I'm not one of the first 86 so let me be the first to say, ''fuck that's a big boat''.

EDIT: That's not the boat, if you google that boat (Auriga Leader) you can find a web site that shows it as being off the coast of Europe.

Subaru has definitely been outclassed by Scion in just about every regard when it comes to this launch.

I can't remember another new vehicle launch that's caused this much excitement. Especially on the Toyota/Scion side. Very exciting times for sure.
I'm a sales manager at a Toyota/Scion store in Massachusetts and I have verified with our region that we will get (we being the around 78 dealerships in this region) 460 FR-S' from now till December. With a mix of 80/20% manual to AT. There will also be around 90 more coming in in January 2013.

The west coast will receive theirs first and the east coast is expected to see them towards the end of May

Damn, they looked so much different in all the other pictures. :(

If I wanted to drive a big metal box I would've ordered a Genesis Coupe.

Hopefully my Firestorm one is the one well above the water line and it can still be rescued...

So, does anyone know the name of the ship carrying the cars?

I don't think anybody here knows the name of the ship that's coming to the east coast. I would guess that it's either very close or has already been there.

I would recommend to find somebody in Ontario, Quebec, or one of the other eastern provinces and see if they have a boat attached to one of their VIN's but I don't think even that will help since I'm now pretty sure that all Canadian cars will be coming through Vancouver and shipped out east by a different mode of transportation.

I keep expecting updates or more info, but nothing is coming. Should I be ready to pick up my car in a couple of weeks, or do I need to hunker down until June!? Wtf SoA?

Well looking at it from Logistical point of view, it makes no sense to park a big ship just to load 86 cars, so I am assuming it is a pretty significant shipment of FRS and BRZ.

Also, the First 86 was not built to order, but rather selected from available cars in the first batch of many many cars that happened to meet the order requirements. Hence my FRS is #348 and not inside of fist 86 sequential numbers.

That's what I gather, but I could be talking out of my butt. So stay tuned. I am finding more factual information as we speak, daily.

The information about the boat being here in Port of LA, and my car being released for delivery on 4/30. That part is a concrete fact, obtained from sources within. :)

There are a bunch of production test mules running around. Like the Raven 6MT Five Axis vehicle is Chassis# 00016. So it likely is sequential, and build to order as they input them. The Toyota plants in Japan build random vehicles to order, not just one vehicle at a time. This may differ since this is at the Subbie plant though, but I'm almost certain it's done the same way.

Heavenlystriker 05-01-2012 07:56 PM

i saw the frs on a towtruck about a mth ago already i cant wait for it.
