still staying similar to what we discussed earlier? Also, do you mind sharing what the other colors are?

looks good

JDLAutoDesign 12-05-2013 12:48 PM

Pricing will ultimately be determined by pricing from the machine shop. The color options are petty much endless between paint and powder coat. That will could vary depending in choices

Really slick gentlemen. Throw a little shorai lithium in there and you're set for a ton less weight.

From my research it will fit any of the Case 3 models

What are the upsides/downsides of the mini-battery? Mainly weight gains as the pros?

Would use of a mini-battery be discouraged if we plan on a fairly powerful aftermarket sound system?

Weight is going to be the biggest advantage. If you're going with a fairly powerful aftermarket sound system, I wouldn't use the smaller battery. Weight proabbly isn't a big concern for you anyways from that point.

Weight is going to be of some concern. I'm not going for car-show audio competition beef, but something around the 1000Wrms range.

I don't want to be adding a seriously significant amount of weight overall.

Yea I would suggest an optima battery and call it a day. It will be much heavier, but will also be significantly cheaper and will last a lot longer than replacing $300 batteries every 6 months

SirBrass 12-05-2013 03:07 PM

Will it be lighter than stock?

I've thought of the optima battery before but my audio guy didn't seem to think I needed it in the 900 Wrms system I had in my STI.

Usually they are heavier than stock

Verdict?

JDLAutoDesign 12-11-2013 01:52 PM

We are aiming for the $450 price range with battery, lines, and all needed fittings. We also may sell just the can for guys that want to run dif batteries

Ryan P 12-11-2013 02:05 PM

Count me in, that's about what I was hoping for

I'm interested in just the can since I'm already running a small batt.

Any specs on the battery used?

SubieNate 01-06-2014 03:19 AM

Any concerns with the vented system not keeping the crankcase under vacuum?

Jesse@JDLAutodesign 01-10-2014 01:13 AM

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. Ourselves along with sheet metal shop got a little backed up with the holidays. These are still on the horizon, i am bringing them more parts on monday so will get an update hopefully then.

I've done a few similar VTA setups on high hp ej25 setups over the years with good results. We sell a lot of honda, evo, etc catch can setups where VTA is the standard. I realize there are positives and negatives to each style can, recirculated or VTA and different people prioritize them differently...With that said i've already built a few of these non VTA and have no problem offering either option. :)

I'm waking this thread for updates!
