The real question will be how long until those parts are affordable and won't further increase the difference in price of the two and how much things such as a NAV, HID, a leather wrapped ebrake handle, and undetermined seat fabric quality differences mean to someone. I'm actually semi interested in getting a set of brz seats if someone ends up ditching them while converting their brz to a different type; pending that one really outshines the other as I want something that's going to last and be semi-oem. ...I'm sure there's more, but gotta get back to work :bonk: |

1. Subaru will hold value better than FR-S 2. Insurance costs will be lower. Financing deals are sweeter. 3. Fewer similar cars on the road. 4. Don't have to put up with badly tuned copies. 5. Finally, there is a lot of buzz about how FR-S front end grill is better. Well, I'll see you guys at a car wash after all-night drive, trying to clean bugs from your mesh grills :), not mentioning catching stones http://razvivashka.com/sites/all/icons/mcqueen4.png |

Even as a BRZ buyer, the FR-S might be preferable because it's lighter, you don't have to pay for options that you're planning to replace, and that $1315 can be put towards wheels/radio/suspension/etc. |
Um, I don't know how you are coming up with a better resale value for Subies. My xB has lost around 2K in three years. Also, I don't intend to put any aftermarket parts on the car for several years so I'd be stuck with the mustache for who knows how long. Finally, the only two reasons I would consider the Subie would be for the fancy leather seats and the lighter blue color. Then I am stuck with a spoiler I don't want and that Subie color is already popular enough I would be waiting for one.
More cars on the lots, better chance to get what I want. No Subie markup or haggling. I have an established relationship with the Sales Manager at the Scion dealership. Don't hate the evil twin, it's your brother. |

Why is this comparing contest still going on? JESUS these threads need to die. They always end in some stupid childish pissing contest. Stop naming luxury features as making one car better than the other. If you really cared about luxury you'd be buying Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, or Mercedes. You wouldn't be buying Toyota/Subaru.
It's the same car. It's made as part of a joint project between Toyota and Subaru. It's 50% Subaru and 50% Toyota. Toyota bought a huge chunk of Subaru to help them gain independence in agreement that they'd help Toyota build a new budget performance platform. In the end we the motorsports fans win by getting a new platform to explore. Who cares which car you buy. I plan to still nod/wave at BRZ drivers when I'm cruising in my FRS. I plan to talk to them as well about stuff they're doing in terms of tuning since it's THE SAME CAR. Stop trying to be better than everyone else based on a stock car. Buy your car, drive it hard, learn it, tune it, improve lap times, and try to beat the other FRS/BRZ drivers. Then you'll have something you can offer up that proves yours is better than theirs instead of trying to pimp some shitty luxury features as making the car "better." |
