You drive a Firestorm FRS. Reminds me of that "Red Celica" Commercial; you look fast even when you're parked.

15 tickets? You deserved this. I highly doubt you werent speeding. They wouldnt of done that unless if you were acting like a total jackass. You shouldnt be driving at all with how many tickets/wrecks you have. THats fucking rediculous.

Your going to hurt someone eventually with your shit driving. Ive only had 2 TICKETS in 10 years of driving. You must be a REALLY bad driver to get 15 tickets by the age of 20. Please do everyone a favor and sell your car and take public transportation. I just dont think you are mature enough to be driving this car. Your going to give other owners a bad name and getting in accidents wont help insurance rates for other people.

Based on what other people quoted you saying. You seem like a bad driver that shouldnt be driving any new car or be near any car. Your going to hurt or kill someone one day. Go take some driving classes or something because you obviously suck at driving with how many tickets/accidents you have.

It's a bit annoying. Obviously OP was doing something stupid in a neighborhood. Now, you take OP, 20 years old, 15 tickets, and 4 wrecks. Now picture OP.

Now picture OP driving an FR-S that is in dire need of some cats.

Wouldn't you do the same?

I'm sure OP was cocky with the guy. The story just doesn't add up otherwise.

He might have been behaving himself that particular day, but you see the same jackass blasting through your neighborhood every day, frustration builds and tempers get lost.

15 tickets and 4 wrecks in 4 years and you are 20? IMHO, you should have never bought this car to begin with and should stop driving for a few years. Get a bicycle, take the bus, buy a scooter, etc.

My guess is that if you were not speeding this time, you have before and the woman had enough. It does not justify the man throwing something at your car, but I suspect there is much more to this story you are not telling people.

I've only been pulled over once in a red FR-S in the past year. Obviously a 16 year old driving a 5.7L 6 speed is going to do some stupid stuff, I matured and got a 2.0L and slowed it down. The past is the past, people mature.

I'm not going to get a bicycle, take the bus, buy a scooter, etc just because someone threw something at my car. I'm a full-time student studying Petroleum Engineering.. I got this car because I will never have to worry about reliabilty and gas milage while I'm in college because I don't have the time.

This isn't my neighborhood and I've never driven by their house before. This is the whole story..I want advice that would actually help me not just waste everyones time.

Yet you couldnt possibly have been driving like a jackass and pissing someone off while driving around their neighborhood?

I am 46, and drive race cars (porsches, surpas, etc.) and havent even had 2 tickets in the last 15 years.

However I HAVE had a face to face conversation with an officer at the PO about me nearly kicking some kids ass for driving 55 in my grandkids crosswalk....
The kid was in the room with me and the officer and he was about to throwup
But I chose to not press any charges....

Maybe you should just get over it.

First of all, you're an adult who has matured. I'm sure you have had your fair share of fun back in the day. I'm still growing up, In 15 years I'll look back at myself now and laugh. I have big goals and I'm working hard to accomplish them.

I took the turn going 25 so it may have looked like I was speeding but I was following the law. I called the police because I have been wronged; I work too hard for some alcoholic to lose his temper and damage my property.

Not sure if you could try going after his insurance company if he owns a vehicle or even his homeowners insurance if he was on his property.

What would you have done? I tried talking to him but the 40+ year old man threatened to "beat my ass", so I called the police.

TwinturboCamry 11-06-2013 12:35 PM

Stop. Lock the doors, call the cops. As soon as your drove away it's now your word against his. It's like me calling the cops and telling them Joetheegyptian ran out into the street and threw a brick as me. How do you prove this?

Cops: "He says you threw a brick at him, did you?"
Guy: "No, I dont know him"
You: "Yes you did, 2pm yesterday"
Cops: "Is this true?"
Guy: "I have no idea what you're talking about"

End of story

You can prove literally nothing. You may as well tell the cops bigfoot did it, they may have a better chance of charging him since they have blurry photos of him in the woods.

I did stop right there next to his house and called the police. They spoke to him and found parts of a device by his driveway and the rest of device (remote?) in his hand.

Then let the cops handle it and see if they do anything. If they don't. Obtain a copy of the police report and sue him in small claims and fees.

If you do sue him, you need to get three estimates from bodyshops that say how much it is to repair.

How much is rental fee for a car?
Three estimates from shops you like
All the filing costs of you suing him
Name of officers
Time
Police report

Write down everything and date it. Details can only help you.

Doesn't sound like you matured to me:bs:

thill 11-06-2013 02:49 PM

You need a police report implicating that the guy threw something at your car and caused damage. If you have that, you can take the guy to small claims court and should get reimbursed based on the three estimates you can get. You probably should consult a lawyer before you go to court so you have your ducks in a row.

If you don't have a police report implicating the other guy, then you should just drop it and move on.

Yeah, in general they do, but it takes decades. Must be great being a kid and thinking you know everything.

I'm 22 and I've only ever had 1 ticket, and it was for speeding (37 in a 25) when I was 16.

Also, how does this make any sense?

You said that you've never driven by their house before, yet you say that he is correct in thinking that you HAVE sped by their house in the past days/weeks/months and THIS TIME you weren't speeding.

Which is it?

Also, you put $5k down on a ~$28-30k lease? Why would you do that?

When leasing the vehicle, the down payment is usually called a Cap Cost Reduction. Many times, customers will put down a fairly substantial amount of money in order to lower their monthly payments. While making the down payment will certainly reduce your monthly payments somewhat, you should consider this: you could get into a serious accident in the first few months of the lease, and the car may be totaled. If something like this happens, your down payment is completely lost. Even if you have high-quality collision insurance and gap insurance, none of your down payment will ever be refunded.
http://www.carsdirect.com/auto-loans...n-when-i-lease

Putting more down doesn't really help anything. Need to stop looking at things in terms of "my monthly payment will be x" and rather be "at the end of the lease, how much money would I have paid?". Sure you have a low monthly payment, but that's because you just gave them $5k worth of payments upfront.

TwinturboCamry 11-07-2013 07:54 PM
