Okay, I just looked into lots similar to my earlier idea.

In Markham:

Unionville Go Station (Could go either way)
Centennial Go Station (Generally empty on weekends)
Markville Mall (Generally can be empty in the corners)

In Scarborough:

Lowe's Lot (800 Warden Ave)
Scarborough GO Station (Could go either way)
Church Lot (66 Old Kennedy Road, generally empty)

In Toronto:

Just kidding! Hard enough to find a parking space as is. :D

Thoughts from participants?

I'm down for whatever homies.

AdrianG 10-24-2013 05:33 PM

My vote is for Lowe's in Scarberia.

A sitter would cost more than a 30 minute install.

I was just insinuating that it's cold enough these days that it might make sense to install snows that weekend...

doing it myself

too cheap to pay for it lol

go train doesn't run here on weekends (newmarket)

Taro 10-24-2013 06:25 PM

Ohh, Newmarket isn't a bad suggestion either. I literally haven't been up there in about a decade and a half, but I seem to remember there's a lot of good, long roads and highway up there for cruising.

Taro 10-24-2013 07:22 PM

We'll go with whichever place gets the most votes by tomorrow afternoon.

my favourite is the 19th sideroad, and the dufferin road area.....nice winding roads, some tiny hills, and lots of farms with horses

+1 that area rocks. Especially with the fresh pavement on Main st.

If you don't mind me asking, what town is that near? tried Google and got more options than I could sort out. Also what time of the day were you plan doing the cruze

I'm from scarborough as well.

Kennedy commons is another spot. Not sure if they banned car meet ups but I usually see a lot of car meets there plus its right beside the highway.

Taro 10-25-2013 06:29 AM

Kennedy Commons is a great suggestion. It's easy for the Scarborough guys, and close to the highway for the Toronto people. Easy drive for us Marlham folks too. I ll vote for that. Maybe we can cruise on up to the Newmarket place if people feel like the drive.

if you're coming up to newmarket.......maybe i'll run out for a few minutes

you can all drive to my street so i can snap some photos

no revving on the street........it's full of retired people, and some are quite grumpy and mean :(

That area is pretty, but I was thinking of the area around Glen Major Forest, from Claremont to the Port Perry/Blackstock area north of highway 7. Some of it is gravel, much more suited to our Impreza cousins... Though there is some decent pavement too.

Kazuya 10-25-2013 11:14 AM

Ladies, what are the final plans and verdict?

Taro 10-25-2013 02:17 PM

I think the plan should be to meet at Kennedy Commons at 2:30, then we'll drive on up to Newmarket. Any objections?

gppfrs 10-25-2013 02:22 PM

Going to the Falls to get drunk with a few friends tomorrow. :happyanim:
Will show up next time.

Kazuya 10-25-2013 02:35 PM

LETS DO IT!!!

Let me see if I can drag a Evo X and a WRX with me

Taro 10-25-2013 02:37 PM

Alright guys, I guess it's on. I guess people who arrive early should try and find a nice, empty corner for us to gather in.

Edit: Found a map on the internet (apparently a popular area for car meets). We'll meet here (Kennedy and 401)

Map:

We'll try to be there around 2:30. I just looked it up...it's a 30 minute total drive up to where the Newmarket people were talking about, avoiding tolls. Of course, we can always go anywhere else if someone has a suggestion tomorrow.

We might just make it up after all. :D

I might run a little late. Winter season so I am packed at my shop. Hopefully I get all my customers out the door sooner

Of course! There is a TSB on this. Crickets and insects are attracted to awesome sexy cars. They like to build home whenever they see one. Usually happens more often when a certain fuel is used. Apparently they love the smell of those. Only way to fix is by professional Toyota pest control with the right amount of exp and special tools. Hope that helps you out

LOL. I always wondered if some garage mechanics did more reasonable versions of this to us unsuspecting masses.

sal 10-25-2013 11:34 PM

Can you post final info? Thx

@sal: We're meeting at Kennedy Commons (Hwy 401, Kennedy Road) around 2:30. We'll wait 30 minutes-45, just chatting and socializing to make sure all the people late/stuck in traffic/ stuck at work ( @aSaki ) can meet up to us. Then we're tentatively going up to the Newmarket Go Station. If we make it up there, we might also see @brzr Final location might change if people suggest a better drive day of.

Kazuya 10-26-2013 12:24 AM

I had no idea that i lived 5m away from Kennedy Commons. LOL

congee 10-26-2013 09:18 AM

Count me out for today :(
Will try my best to make it to the next one!

drewbot 10-26-2013 10:01 AM

Hope you guys have fun. Can't make it today, but let's hope for a spring meet

aSaki 10-26-2013 10:14 AM

Judging from the weather I think it might be better to postpone the cruise lol

Does everybody want to postpone? It'd be pretty crappy to have some people show up and find no one else did, so we should be in agreement first.

Edit: There's still 5 people who either haven't voiced an opinion or haven't heard. Tagging them to notify.

If they weather clears up or enough people want to go by noon...it's still on. But I have serious doubts.
