Naw man, it must have taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

86_Otaku 10-04-2013 01:31 AM

wow sucks to be that Tesla owner... Another 8 month wait all over again lol

2013GTRNate 10-04-2013 01:50 AM

The car was delivered to another dealer who took it, put tint on the windows, marked it up quite a bit, and didn't want to give it up. I saw the window sticker from the other dealer to prove it.

Fucking douche bags... At that point I would have killed somebody if I didn't get the deal I was promised.

Definitely bitch to get free shit for your troubles. Hope you didn't pay for the tint if you bought it.

Hopefully your dealer did not charge you for the tint. Congrats, it will be nice to have the car for the weekend..

I would be fuming if I were you.

I'd also be on the phone with Subaru of America and calmly explaining the situation and that they're about to lose a customer to Scion if they can't fix this (even if you aren't willing to actually buy an FR-S).

SOA should be able to help you. If they say they can't, they're lying. GM customer support helped me with a dealer warranty issue once, and one of my buddies had issues with an Audi dealer technician; he called Audi, they investigated, and the dealer fired the tech.

Edit: I may have misunderstood. Are you actually getting the car at the price, and at the price you negotiated?

rmjjensen 10-04-2013 10:00 AM

At least it'll be yours soon!!!!!!

Congratulations, it looks awesome!

Frostyman 10-04-2013 10:11 AM

Dude, did you just get free tint? Sweet!

u/Josh 10-04-2013 10:44 AM

The other dealer marked the car up but it wasn't their car to sell. My dealer got the car back and I bought it at the previously negotiated price. Sorry for the confusion, the car is home with me now.

ericmpena 10-04-2013 11:05 AM

Congrats!

Pete156 10-04-2013 11:17 AM

Glad to see you got the car. Now remember this event, and never, never take your car to the dealership again unless you REALLY need to (which you won't).

Hang on a minute there friend. I fail to see how the car being shipped to the wrong dealership is the fault of the OP's original dealer. The shipping company and/or port authority are more likely at fault. I would actually argue that the OPs dealer did a great job of getting the car back and honoring the original price despite that upgrades that had been applied.

In the real world, shit happens, mistakes are made. We are all human. Great customer service happens when a provider steps up and corrects those mistakes by making a wrong situation right. If that is what happened here, then I hope the OP will frequent the dealer for service/etc to support them.

To the OP: congrats on getting your beautiful BRZ. Enjoy it, and welcome to the BRZhood!

Chee-Hu 10-04-2013 12:53 PM

Congrats!

When you said "they marked it up quit a bit" I was thinking they dents and scratch up. lol

Marcoscrdo 10-04-2013 02:08 PM

AWESOME outcome!! Love it!

I personally haven't heard of "cars being lost", but when cars are ordered close to a cut off deadline, they can disappear sometimes meaning that the order missed and they cant fulfill the order.

BRZer86 10-08-2013 03:12 PM

I used to work at a dealership, which makes it harder to believe that it was lost. I think they sold your car that came in to another client and said they would dealer trade for one spec'd the exact way you wanted it. That aside enjoy your BRZ!

Nope. The vin number on the car I bought matched the one I was given when I put the deposit down. Also, I saw the window price sheet from the other dealer.

bestwheelbase 10-09-2013 12:59 AM

Damn people put down your pitchforks. It was a simple shipping error.

OP great choice on the color. Enjoy it in good health!

Kiske 10-09-2013 10:38 AM

Glad to see OP got his car with an upgrade. I'd keep the marked up window sticker. Higher resell to those who don't do their homework should it happen.

I ordered 2 WRB 2013's at 2 different dealerships (the first place ordered in the wrong car) and both were marked as in-transit on the dealers' website...

Turbowned 10-11-2013 11:21 AM

Glad to know it wasn't any funny business and just a shipping error. Enjoy the beautiful new car; you picked the best color :)

GNS 10-12-2013 12:38 PM

When it comes time to pay, just tell them that you lost your payment and you're in the process of tracking it down.
