Is it just me or does that thing look like its on backwards? Maybe angled wrong too, like it would make lift, not downforce?

Creating torque via adding power is one way, such as a turbo, supercharger, etc.

However, from my experience of switching gear ratios in the rear end of a mustang from 3.27 to 4.10's made a huge difference in feeling. I felt more torque. As far as I know this doesn't create torque but it will allow your cars engine to rev much faster (getting into the torque/hp band), and can give perhaps the torque feel. This allowed me to burn out easier or spin the tires/drift easier. The car was faster because of this also, noticeably, I might add.

shortening the gear ratio will make it accelerate faster, but reduce your top end. that being said when are you really using the top end of a mustang? and no, it didn't affect the torque output of your engine at all, just allowed you to harness it faster.

Must do on this car. Good luck.

LOL, I should put a sticker on my tach that says "KEEP OUT" from 3-5k. Although, I should probably keep out above that too as evidently you can get knocking above 5k and damage your injectors... :sigh:

The car has low end tq, its the mid range that suffers

Lol yeah I'm not sure how to drive the car anymore...I never heard of the knocking problem tho? :(

Someone made a good point that it's not a torque dip but a torque boost at 2800rpm lol that's a optimistic way of looking at it :D

that is inaccurate info. its only risky to the injector seals if you shift fast at redline where u land above 5k after shifting

shift slower and u should be ok

Hello. Since december 2011 i'm interesting by the new Hachi roku. You can't have port injection and direct injection between 3000 and 5000 rpm because the motor would overheat. I've seen a PDF from Toyota and it is said that the motor turn not enough quickly to refresh the combustion chamber. After 5000 rpm it turns very quickly and the exhaust valve open quickly to absorbe the heat. I think the D-4s system needs Toyota ingineers to be updated with Ecutek. The complexity from the system whith back pressure and injector heating is to complex for tuners. Toyota says that the injector could be damage by using DI and PI in the same time above 5000 rpm. The injectors could reach 150°C and overheat.

Perhaps if you take an exhaust system without cat and racing header for highflow it could be good for refreshing the combustion chamber but it could lost torque because the back pressure will be poor. Look at the Griffon from TRD. It has got an oil cooler and on the front fender there is an exhaust air grille.
