Nothing about confrontational pissing contest, just letting you know that it isn't that way in japanese or kanji. The direct english to kanji/japanese translation is incorrect. Nothing else to it, call it whatever you like since it is your car. No need to get all emotional if a native speaker tells you otherwise. It isn't one of those kanji tattoos that people will need to pay thousands for to remove.

You are a native speaker now? Cool. You are still a troll based on the way you comment on the forums. What's the name of your car? (since that's what this thread is about)

FYI: I am bilingual in English & Mandarin and I also studied Japanese for 4 years as well. I was well aware that there were two iterations of translating "Snow White," I chose the one I wanted and there is no mistake here. I didn't want to name it "White Snow". Thanks for playing though!

Cool, that is great.
Thanks for the belligerent name calling.

Brienne of Toyobaru because like @Brently I'm going through GoT withdrawals, was gonna call it balerion, but it was weird with a guys name

Like the OP I named my Hot Lava after a volcano. Vesuvious was the only one I could think of when a coworker suggested volcano names because of the color. But, as cool a name as it is, Vesuvious sounds distinctly male, so her name is Vesuvia.

bkblitzed 07-05-2013 01:14 PM

Car? I have never named any of my car. I just dont get emotionally attached to em I guess.

Slartibartfast 07-21-2013 12:38 AM

Someone asked me what I was going to name her. I jokingly said "I dunno how 'bout Lenore." It's Raven black, so I was going for a Poe reference.
I was really was just joking about the name, when I said it. But, the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. Now it's stuck.

I've never really named any of my cars before. My '91 MR-2 was sometimes referred to as Mr.Two... But think they ALL were. My '85 RX-7 was kinda sorta called Rex, but it never stuck.

Both of those were nicknames. But Lenore IS Lenore. She's a character with personality. Since I've started referring to her as Lenore, I really like the idea of have a name other than "my car"

EAGLE5 07-21-2013 12:57 AM

I call it "my car" or "my FR-S" or even "my Scion".

wrxgoose 07-21-2013 01:08 AM

usually call it "her" or "she" but for a name, Trouble.

NOHOME 07-22-2013 04:11 PM

Wife stuck it with the moniker "REMON" cause in the first six months it was always at the dealer for something.

As the old saying goes, "When life hands you remons, make remon-drop-martinis!":bellyroll:

I call her Rarity

Ragua007 07-22-2013 06:29 PM

Shirley, it was my Grandma's name

jlu 07-22-2013 08:44 PM

I don't really have a name for mine (maybe I'd call her Sophie or Sophia if I had to choose one, I like those names)

Although one time my buddy, wanting to borrow the car, asked for "May I unleash the Dullahan?" and that name sort of stuck.

Girlfriend name her as well as my truck. She wanted to give them names that could be used as strippers. LOL

HAHA "Amber" is what my wife named my car! The wife's name isn't Amber but she said if she had to pick a "cute" name that would be it. :iono:

mistressmotorsports 07-23-2013 02:35 AM

"The fun car." Actually my daughter's name for the car. That's what she called the S2000 when I had it as well.

racecat 07-23-2013 03:38 AM

Sounds like I'm in good company with @RurumariGhost and @Brently!

I named mine Tyrion, because he's my favorite character and the FR-S has a similar personality: playful and impish, but strong and tenacious when it counts. I like to think of it as a little lion, too. :)

Surakusa 07-23-2013 03:05 PM

"Jess the FR-S"

fatoni 07-23-2013 03:11 PM

I actually was sent an extra plate exactly like the one I have if interested.

RedLeader 07-30-2013 02:35 AM

My license plates say "sidewinder" but most of the time it gets referred to as "yellow car" for reasons that become apparent when you see it.
