You know what Hot Lava is back on the list bro! I like it. Its going to be more rare...

From the placard above... 'The Nurburgring played an important role...' Hmm ;-)

From 'first drive' reports... 'when you ask Tada-san, the engineering boss in charge of the project the usual, turgid, Nurburgring lap-time question, he just shrugs and smiles. He doesn't care: "This doesn't matter."'

Very interesting to see it come in under 1200kgs though. To get a modern coupe weighing that little is impressive :-)

Man, that blue looks great!! Prolly the best looking color on AS1 imo. Or maybe the exposure makes it look that good?

Gross vehicle weight is the CURRENT weight of the car. Gross vehicle weight RATING is the maximum weight capacity (including the car). So that car, sitting there, weighs 1180KG = 2601Lb = I'm impressed.

It definitely looked that good, at least under the show lights. Sometimes colors look better under auto show lights than in natural lighting. Dunno if that's the case with this color but it kept my attention more than the other colors (no offense to the fans of those colors; those are attractive too).

This looks like a very good paint job and every vehicle (pre-production) hasn't shown noticeable imperfections.

Except the white, which looks cheap now :(. 2nd Choice would be Silver/DGM for the FRS. WRB/SSM for BRZ

Levi 03-06-2012 04:47 PM

No typo. I think acceleration time is conservative. Can't wait to drive there on Saturday. I need to get that energy drink.

Enemies 03-06-2012 04:50 PM

All the colours are the same as their BRZ brethren other than obviously the orange right?

Most importantly the Blue is Galaxy Blue Silica? Haven't seen too many pics of it on BRZ's.

Remember the orange 350Z..... ya

CoryUyede 03-06-2012 06:44 PM

Man, that Blue, under BRIGHT showroom lights is gorgeous, ALMOST as awesome as the WRB.

The problem is, Under natural outside lighting, that ultramarine blue looks a little Drab to me. At least the photos i've seen. IN person I can't say.

The paint DOES look of high quality, lets just hope it's not like all the subaru's i've owned where it has thin ass clearcoat and minimal basecoat :(

Veloist 03-06-2012 07:09 PM

Thanks for posting these pictures!

They have a GT86 energy drink...that's pretty funny because here there's already an FRS energy drink, but there's no association whatsoever!

MiguelAE86 03-06-2012 07:24 PM

I Love how the 2000GT goes 0-60 in 8.6 Seconds :party0030:

Agreed. Looks like the super white they use on Corollas and Camrys of this generation. SWP should be good though. I hope it has the metallic specs when you look close, cuz thats how my Lude looks.

zAnSh1n 03-06-2012 07:58 PM

awesome, pix... thanks !!

cambo 03-06-2012 08:00 PM

That blue looks even sexier than before

just86 03-06-2012 08:01 PM

damn scion, i want those headlights

NERO 03-06-2012 08:31 PM

I like the white. I can't stand SWP on sports cars, even an STI looks strange to me in the SWP. To me, SWP is reserved for Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, etc...

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The blue looks amazing, Hot Lava, Red, White any would be fine. Just having the car is all I care about. I'll probably end up with White, Blue, or Hot Lava.

Thanks for posting, this is extremely helpful. I'm so glad that they finally posted an official weight and couldn't be happier that it's 2600 lbs. That's huge!

dori. 03-06-2012 08:55 PM

I'd kill for that white on a BRZ or FR-S

SIRvive 03-06-2012 09:00 PM

Blue ftw. Its such an awesome color

this... i'm personally getting the dgm, since fr-s/brz is not offered in plain white :[

Sully 03-06-2012 09:12 PM

2600 stock?

Goddamn. It can be pink, for all I care.

zAnSh1n 03-06-2012 09:14 PM

1180kg is roughly 2600lbs.

And I think this marks the first Official release of the 0-60 time: 6.9 seconds. I've certainly not seen it before now.

yup and thats a VERY sad time for a "light weight" car...
and don't give me that "this is not drag car" crap.
I was expecting way better 0-60 than a GTI for the 400lbs difference.

shut up and GTFO of here. n00b!!!:thumbdown::thumbdown:

it's okay guys, i know him in real life

subatoy 03-06-2012 09:41 PM

Is this the US spec?
the BRZ weighs 2,760lbs, so I don't see this car weighing 160lbs less.
WTF?

Syrianto 03-06-2012 09:49 PM

Thanks for the pics Hachi!

Side note... the white 86 is on a serious slant... lol

Audi 03-06-2012 10:10 PM

Huh my Girl 3-wheel scooter can go from 0-60 in 7 sec. :mad0260:

DIG1992 03-06-2012 10:45 PM

Hot lava looks good def would get this coior or wrb on the brz

GTR 03-06-2012 11:13 PM

disappointing 0-100 time for me, 7 seconds is pretty pathetic.

zAnSh1n 03-06-2012 11:15 PM

yea, i was thinking more like celica gt-s / rsx-s numbers... mid-6s

Sasquachulator 03-06-2012 11:18 PM

I believe 0-100km/h is actually 0-62mph.

So you can take about 0.2 or so seconds off and its actually closer to 6.7 0-60.

If it makes you feel better....

That's ok, its about what i was expecting.

TRD_07 03-06-2012 11:59 PM

Forget the damn weight the car is light as it is. :) Did you guys notice the black outter tail light covers or stickers whatever they're called that covered the chrome from the tail lights on the race version? It looked awesome I bet a color match and just leave the red led and reverse un painted would look great!

Kuzuri 03-07-2012 12:01 AM

mmmmmm, that Raven!

yes, this car is light in general, but it's not THAT light considering it's specs/dimensions...

7th gen celica's curb weight clocked in at ~2500lbs.
