Still no pricing information.... sigh.

Grimlock 01-12-2012 12:26 PM

Its strange when there's no colors listed in the brochure.

Gaen 01-12-2012 12:27 PM

I know its prob not a big deal but is their not going to be a center compartment box? just cup holders? i personally would like the center compartment just for some concealed storage (rather than leaning all the way over to get into the glove box.) and of course as a arm rest :)

Yeah I noticed that too, usually brochures have options packages, prices, interior spec, colors, etc.

It looks like this is a pre-production brochure based on the statements that some things may change once actual production starts.

How do you know this is the BRZ Premium and not the FRS?

ayau 01-12-2012 01:03 PM

This is the interior shot of the FRS.

http://c819941.r41.cf2.rackcdn.com/m...preview-11.jpg

Edit: Looks like you were right based on a couple of things.

Silver dash trim.
Seats.
NAV unit (although the FRS might have an optional NAV).

rankink 01-12-2012 01:13 PM

Looks like the weight increase about 80 lbs (2762 US spec) from what the JPN versions stated, and the weight distribution moved forward a bit too (53/47 to 55/45).

As the weight is estimated, we'll see.
Btw that is curb weight... Many other figures weren't clear about that...

Great post! Thanks.

The more info we get, the more confusing it gets... :mad0259::bonk:

You are also assuming that's every page of the brochure. Maybe it is, I have no idea, but if it's a regular brochure I'd expect a page with the colors and specs.

That is in no way official.

Zaku 01-12-2012 02:49 PM

Let's think about this, they are all built in the same plant. You've seen them in Gray, Blue, Dark Blue, Black, Silver and White confirmed in photos, video, press release. They've confirmed in LA they will definitely release a WRBII blue. The only one that hasn't been seen is the red. You know the 86 is using Subaru Colors you know the FRS colors SCION just renamed them. Why would they paint them with different colors to make the price go up? Think about it. Interviews that were posted here on the Forums has already confirmed 7 colors. So with the highly unlikely event there's an Orange BRZ that leaves Red. Therefore you've seen 6 out of 7 OFFICIAL colors. Back track and read up on everything a bit.

WRBII blue shown in Auto Show/CES

Dark Gray Metallic- Brochure/Official Site

Satin White Pearl- Shown in Press Release/Tokyo

Crystal Black Silica- Test drive Event

Galaxy Blue Silica- Spy Shot from NJ Subaru HQ

Sterling Silver Metallic- BRZ first Video, Test Drive Review

Red- Unknown

Orange- Unknown

Ah, so this is official? So does that mean whiteout white for the scion is the same as the pearl white of subaru?

From the deductions yes, wouldn't make sense for them to use more than one set of paint. No official text, only official from Subaru was that they are 7 colors. I actually took it upon myself to talk to someone at Scion corporate but they did not reply to me in regards of the question." are these just Subaru colors renamed?" guess it was too blunt. But from all the pictures we have seen, Whiteout is Satin White Pearl. Also from eye witness accounts when people saw the black one at car and coffee they said it was likely Galaxy Black, and if I remember Ichi saw the red Scion and said it was basically Lighting red.

Take from that what you will. I'll try and confirm my findings when the cars come to DC at the end of this month.

good find. It has to have the same ac as the FR-S...the premium does not have the Dual Zone AC only the limited.

Looks like the BRZ Premium is just like the FR-S but with HIDS.

Mark my words the Scion Bespoke will be standard on the FR-S.

BMWDAD 01-12-2012 06:23 PM

I was kinda hoping that they just gave the standard Pioneer, I kinda want to put it my own aftermarket screen, or just leave it alone. I'm gonna go with the opposite of you and say FRS will have Bespoke as option and you get a normal Pioneer.I can't see any wrongs with either decision

tripjammer 01-12-2012 06:28 PM

They are making this way to difficult...but at least we know what we are getting in the BRZ. Come on Scion...finalize and tell us what we are suppose to get?

I hear ya and I am OK with that but if you read the Bespoke presentation it sounds like they want this to be standard. If not nobody will ever buy it on their Scions. The Bespoke is more of a telematics system than a navigation system So that's why it might be standard on the FR-S. It's just a theory.

Right now...I am leaning back towards the FR-S...If I go BRZ it will be the limited version. I see no reason to get the BRZ premium over the FR-S.

It's also very possible that there will be a lot of options on the FR-S. Maybe why we have not seen a final specs and configuration.

They are just playing the Bespoke system up like everyone should have it(aka buy the option). There's been too many Scion FR-S photos already with a non-nav stereo. And since Scion is only in the US, it's pretty safe to assume that it's not for another market as we found out with the BRZ having nav as standard even though there were pictures with non-nav stereos.

BRZ premium will have HIDs and nav as standard which FR-S will not. So there's reason enough to choose it over the FR-S(at least for some people).

Kind of hoping with the verbiage used that the controls will look the same (i know, wishful thinking) but just not dz or automatic.

If you look at the picture that "shows" the center of gravity of 18.1", the line only goes as high as the middle of the rim on the car.

But it also starts at ground level... which takes some tire height into account, and I'm sure it's not 100% to scale.

DavidGaddy 01-14-2012 04:18 PM

Nav standard on every BRZ on every Brz standard I love this car

i don't know about the other colors, but as much as i want your statement to be true, i highly doubt it...

i think the scion's whiteout is a true white, whereas subie's satin white pearl is... well, a pearl white, heh...

if subie offered the brz in plain white [aka: aspen white], i wouldn't have so much trouble deciding between the two models...

for me:
subie > scion
brz > fr-s
...but i hate pearl white [subie] :bonk:

i might end up getting the fr-s though, since it comes in "real" white and they are virtually the same car...

but a SCION, really??? [no offense to anyone]
i guess i can slap on some toyota badges...

OR

i can get a different color brz, but i really want [real] white... like my first and second cars, both subies, btw...

No worries, spec sheet says stripper version has no wing, next one up has 3 options. I imagine the choices are big wing, ugly small spoiler, and nothing.

Snoopyalien24 01-15-2012 09:26 PM

Whiteout is NOT white satin pearl

jussayin

Snoopyalien24 01-15-2012 09:31 PM

Wait wasn't the weight split into Front 53 Rear 47? Well the Toyota brochure said that

This says 55 45

we don't know for sure, since no one has seen it in person, but i agree...

satin white pearl ≠ whiteout

now, if the scion color was called super white, that would have been a relief; i guess we will find out soon enough...

Argent6978 01-15-2012 10:04 PM

Does anyone else notice how neither car company gives credit to the other for helping in the development process? :) Just an observation.

We know Subaru will have the Satin White Pearl but we have seen only the TRD varient of the Toyota in Satin White Pearl. Other ones in pictures are just regular white. I would actually prefer the Satin White, so I'm hoping whiteout is Satin Pearl, but I doubt it.

swp is nothing new from the subie camp... as a matter of fact, it has been offered for the sti since MY07 [i don't know about the other models]... so i know exactly what that color looks like; it's pearlescent [duh], so no go for me...

i'm pretty confident that scion's whiteout color will be a "true" white... i mean, just judging by it's name: whiteout, that has to be a pure white, no sparkly nonsense... imo, of course...

if it does in fact end up being some kind of pearl white, i will go with the brz, probably gun metal...
