there needs to be a 24hr knock-out gas system that sprays out of the steering column available for purchase aftermarket. That way said scumbag thief can wake up to a bunch of cops.
Sorry about the car dude =/ |
Yea I never understood why toyota never installed an alarm. I can't imagine it being a weight issue.

Quick release steering wheel! Remove and take it with you! .... But really, that sucks, at least it was just the window and not the whole car. Hopefully it will not happen again.

And the above posters are right, there isn't a market for parts yet, you'd have to sell the whole car which really wouldn't be worth it, what would you get at most? $20k? With the same amount of work you could nab a much more valuable car... |
I am completely baffled how so many of you are missing the statements that a few have made and I am more than happy to repeat...
The FRS has a built-in immobilizer!! It works!! If the ECU doesn't read the proper, chipped key nearby, the car will NOT start! Its in the owner's manual! Mine acted up on me a month ago and my car did NOT start for 4 hours! The worst that will happen is your car will be damaged (no alarm on Earth will prevent that) or something inside will be stolen. If there are valuables in your car, they will be long gone by the time you get out there. I am really sorry to hear about your car. It sucks and I've been there. Hope you get it repaired and back on the road soon! Scott |
Outside of the immobilizer, is it stick or auto?
Sucks about the damage though. |
Shoot first ask questions later.

:( sorry they tried to violate your baby.

they would be happy to pay you a visit! just dust off "old betsy" in the corner. |
wow. they must be hard up strap on cash and/or high as a muthaf****r to try to steal a car nowadays and not get caught. they will find the culprit soon with fingerprints and shoe prints.
It's rather difficult to steal mine. Just look at all the anti theft measure I've installed. Happened to my friends g35 two days ago. People suck. |

I am also unsure who 'old Betsy' is, hoping it is not some sort of old household pet which you had treated by a taxidermist. Not sure why you would bring that anyways. |

I'm glad I can leave my car unlocked outside my house in my plain vanilla town and at my work. Thankfully in the 10yrs I've been parking semi-rare sports cars outside they've never once been messed with. Prefer to park 'em in the garage just the same. Got a pretty serious security system on the house! |

It baffles me why anyone would steal once of these cars.

In all likelihood, the man will be charged with manslaughter. While I don't feel especially bad for the car thief, he was not presenting an "immediate threat of bodily harm or injury" to the car's owner and therefore, self-defense would be a tough sell in court. While there are some states that allow for the use of deadly force in the protection of property, Washington State is not one of them. As a CCP holder, I make sure to familiarize myself with all deadly force laws in whichever state that I bring my weapon. (Especially Georgia!) I would recommend any of you that are talking "big" about killing a car thief do the same. You may end up being the one behind bars. Scott |
New type of booby-trap:
Tiny cameras covering all angles (and interior) that automatically capture pictures upon sensing bump/movement/broken glass; and upload them via 3G/4G networks to the Cloud so when you come out to your car being busted or stolen, images of the thieves are already sitting on your cloud server to show the cops... Hell, to show the world! Invent that and you have a million dollar idea! When days were a bit older we used to hang people in the public square for stealing a horse... Oh how I pine for the good 'ol days. |

Always wanted to get something like this in case a car was stolen. Call 911 and have an officer pick you up and go for a ride along just to see the look on the faces of the baddies.

Man this sucks. I had my car broken into a few years back & the punks stole the system out of it. I hope they get the scum who did this.

Sorry this happened man. I've had 2 cars stolen in the past and was hoping this stuff was behind me when I moved to a Subaru.
I'm making an uninformed assumption here, but would the keyless start feature on the BRZ make it harder to steal the car by starting it and driving it away? |
^ yea what dude said.
