Purchased August 18th in the Bay Area
MSRP $27,495 + Destination & Delivery $770 = $28,265 Also add $80 doc fee, $2338.46 Sales tax, & $289.75 Licensing Fees. Total OTD = $30,973.21 :barf: |
^^ Oof, sales tax sucks worse than here!! ^^
I was ready to finance a BRZ Limited 6MT at MSRP last march, before I worked for Subaru. Would've been as follows: MSRP: $28,265 with destination, Limited 6MT no extra options Tax (6.25%): $1,766.56 Documentation: $299 Title/registration (new plates): $150 Total: $30,480 Now that I'm selling for Subie I'm hoping I can get it for invoice or less, *fingers crossed* I plan on putting down between $5-10k and financing the remainder. |

Though really all my savings are negated by the shipping cost from MA to MD. |
I went to the dealer yesterday to check one out and they said they're putting a 5K markup on it. The salesman was rude and treated me like shit. What a ripoff

there are plenty to be found here in new england, with fresh allocated cars on the way for 'stock" and NOT ordered cars! some dealers have 'em lined up like ten pins! no bull s**t. brz's are becoming negotiable,in that dealers don't want to keep cleaning them off after snow storms.if ya play the 'fuc*ed up game they put ya through,ya can do all right on the (o.t.d) price. scions are a little tougher to find,(in stick, plenty of "slush" boxes though) but (w.t.f), just about the same car.car is out there, just try to be a little patient is all!..google new england dealers..just sayin' |

believe it or not,a lot of deals go away because the greedy
dealers NOT relenting on these "outrageous" "half ass" ''doc" fees! basically a couple of key strokes on a computer, and voila! your out like $350.00 or so! ya get a good deal on paper, then they throw that doc fee in your face, and ya feel like walkin' out! (hot damn!) |
28807, 31k after taxes, owed a bit on my trade in soo.....
|
28265 plus 700 for lojack which I wish I didn't get.
|
$200 below MSRP because the dealer financier couldn't match my bank's lower APR and my bank was closed so dealer brought my final price down to compensate for their slightly higher APR for a quick sale. Few weeks later I refinanced with my bank so I ended up with the lower APR (1.79%) as well lol
|
I paid $28232 + tax on 10/27 in the Denver area for my GBS DZE + Pop 1B + Chrome Fuel Door Cover.
$28136 (MSRP) +$770 (destination) + $126 (fees) - $800 I'm in Phoenix and did a fly-and-drive. I don't want to spam the board with unsolicited advertising for the dealership, but I cannot say enough about how easy the whole thing was. PM me if anybody wants specifics. |
How much is everybody here paying for dealer handling fees?
i paid $27,200 + $400 shipping fees for a premium with a spoiler and package 1a |
~30K OTD Limited with Chrome fender things and homelink autodimming mirror.
|
I paid invoice.. plus the dealer's $250 paperwork fee..
I have a question.. Why would anyone pay for the car in full or even put any money down when they can get 1.49% financing. Surely you can find better uses for your money.. . I'll borrow as much money as they will give me at 1.49%.. it's less than inflation. 1.49% on $30k is like $37 in interest per month... Now.. back when rates were 6-7% for a normal car loan.. I could see wanting to avoid the interest.. but now?? oh well.. whatever.. |
Totally not relevant to the thread, but here's a little perspective for you U.S. folks. :)
|
I like the price I paid for mine very much, then. haha

I'd already saved up more than 30k over a few years to buy this car. But even in a high yield savings account I was only getting about 1.1%, and I didn't want it in a longer term investment as I wasn't sure of the timing on actually buying the car, 2-4 years? Who knew at the time. So if I did a 1.49% loan on top of that, I'd break even so to speak against inflation, paying it all off right now does save me some money. That $30 a month will now go back into my IRA for example which does have a greater than inflation return. Then the wife decides to buy a mustang and my carefully planned finances go to shit...such is life. |
Hate to bring back a dead thread like this, but I am currently negotiating terms on a new CBS BRZ Limited 6mt. Right now I am getting 2700 for my 2001 Civic ex with 155k miles on it (this is 1k over kbb for its condition) and got $500 off of msrp. I could not get them to come down on MSRP any more but I was able to get them to throw in two years comprehensive maintenance for oil, brakes, and scheduled maintenance.
So... should I go for it or do you all think I can get better from somewhere else? :iono: |

The answers you get to your question won't really give you what you're looking for. Not too many guys that let themselves get shafted and ended up overpaying for their cars are going to come on here and admit it. ;)

These cars can be purchased for MSRP or lower. |
Really not sure, my wife beat them down on price and then added I believe every warranty they offered under the sun. I really am afraid to see what the end number was. lol (she says since we keep cars for so long matter as well cover everything.)
As I said before I was not going to buy the car just check out the color and then order the next model year, but Joe the salesman and my wife sold me WRB BRZ |

I say pay what you feel comfortable with, if you feel like you are not getting everything you paid for, walk. Some people will go to lengths for a great deal, but live with the hassles of price wars, others just want the car and convenience of walking into any dealer and just paying the asking price. To each their own, as long as you are happy.
That being said, I am somewhat of a cheap bastard... LOL I paid $27,162 + $499 Dealer fees, but have to deal with what some people consider a hassle from buying a car out of state. For me personally, it was the funnest car purchasing experience I ever had. (+$124) Flew out to CO, from CA, then drove the car all the way back, with a one night hotel stay (+60). I have 2 months on CO temp reg before I even have to pay CA tax and license. DMV requires I need to smog the vehicle before I apply, which is another +$40. I don't count gas and food since I use those while I am sitting here everyday. So before tax and license OTD, I have invested $27,885 for a Limited BRZ 1B package and Chrome Fuel Door. I'll try to remember when I pay my tax and license to give a true OTD, but that is my OTD so far.... |

Also realized that up north, like CT, NH area (including Toronto I guess) have BRZ's on the lot due to the geographical region, not as many people are keen on RWD's, so they will give discounts there. GL anywhere else where there's huge demand though. |

my $750 discount is the new grad discount. I have graduated 2 years now so if i don't buy it in 2012 i can't use my new grad discount anymore. |

Welp, I found a different dealer that beat the price. Today I got the SWP BRZ Limited with package 1B with chrome fender trim and fuel door $906 below msrp. I also picked up the dealer's two year maintenance package with it. Extremely happy with it. I am picking it up on Thursday when I get out of work. They also matched the $2700 trade in on my old beater civic after originally only offering me $1975
Cool thing is the dealer is 1/4 mile from my job so it is super convenient to take advantage of the maintenance. Oh the sales manager threw in two free lift tickets to a local ski resort with the car. :) All in all I think I did pretty well. Now I just have to break it in. :bonk: http://i.imgur.com/2eA8BlN.jpg |
28599 is what I got the car for. SWP Limited, auto dim mirror and rear bumper applique. After warranty and aftermarket, came to 30100 and change. In Nebraska you pay taxes when you register. Put 17500 down.

trying to get an idea from limited owners. I'm looking at a WR Pearl Blue BRZ Limited and was quoted at a dealership in CT at 27,828.00 with out Tax, registration, doc fee, or destination charge. not sure if thats a good deal for a limited or not. Mind you I dont belive I will have to pay state tax on it (in the miltary) and I wont be paying registration fees as I will be registering it out of state and just doing a registration transfer from my GTI that I would be trading in to the BRZ.

go to "trucar.com" and check out "true" (includes shipping) invoice.

I paid 27000 including dealer fee for a WRB limited manual BRZ earlier this month from a dealer in MA
paid like 900 for tax and registration with custom plates in VA |
I got shafted, I'll admit. But I'm the type that gets what I want right away, and wanted the first shipment of the BRZ. Was waiting for an FR-S, a little bird at the Scion dealership told me there is one SWP BRZ Limited left in the Portland area, and he saw it driving by.
Saw the last one, I bought it for $33,000 which included 3M protective shield on front, side mirror, handles, doors, bumper, trunk, and fenders. 150,000 miles or 7 year full warranty, free 2 year service. My budget for a fun 2nd car was about ~$36,000 (originally looking at a Golf R) so it was still a deal in my mind and really wanted a BRZ over a FR-S. I don't have any regrets, and I love driving this car. This is a car I will keep for a long time as a hobby. Unless AlfaRomeo finally decides to come to the US.. Then we'll see. |
